Only place I know for a fact I can get something to eat being that I have a vegan and gluten free diet. The banana whip is a must have, incredibly tasty and in opinion better than dairy ice cream .

We have been coming here for years, and have never been disappointed. Haven’t been here for about a year, and it’s still amazing!

We stopped in after finding the cafe on happy cow and were impressed! I got an everything bagel with vegan cream cheese (I’m 99% sure the use Miyokos), tomato, red onion, & sprouts and it was delicious. My boyfriend got the Mango Tango smoothie and enjoyed it as well. We also got the blueberry scone which was clearly labeled along with other vegan, regular vegetarian, and gluten free options. Great selection for vegan breakfast and we’re planning on going back for their banana whip and maybe to grab a few baked goods for the road!

Their abbreviations aren’t intuitive if you haven’t looked at the menu for the key. (And why does “veg” mean beegan? Surely they can have “veg” mean vegan and “beeg” mean beegan. I thought I was missing something important and initially skipped over the items that were labeled “sveg” but to them, that means vegan, and those are the items that would apply to me. *facepalm*) Anyway, I love the banana whips, I get one each time I come. This time I got both the blueberry duffin and the muffin. The duffin was dry and unpleasant, but the muffin was moist and tender. What a huge difference being wrapped in plastic can do. The brownie is cakelike but still pleasant. (if you’re expecting a dense brownie, you may be disappointed, but if you go in expecting chocolate cake, you will likely enjoy it) The cinnamon bun was tough which made me think maybe it was wheat based, but my husband assured me it was GF. (Needless to say, he was not a fan. His revulsion was a little amusing.) I enjoyed it though. I don’t encounter that texture much these days. It was so close to being flaky.

Owner claimed I attacked her on the phone after nicely speaking about the soggy burger I received with no flavor, no seasoning, just gross wetness. I am not usually one to call and complain, and MUCH less one to leave a review but I seriously wouldn’t consider coming back as there are much tastier options on the same boardwalk.

This place is amazing and I wish they had a franchise opportunity. It’s that good. We love all things Ocean City but the healthy options are limited. We ended up here several times during our stay because it’s that good. We loved it so much we went home and bought a device for whipping frozen bananas. But it’s not the same flavor or texture. Whatever you do, Bashful Banana, keep on doing it! And let me know if you ever franchise. We have been coming there for years and will be back next year!

Dietary restrictions: Great for plant based, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan needs.

We’ve been devoted Bashful Banana Bakery fans for years! It’s one of our favorite places.
Huge selection of delicious food! Nurturing for your body and soul.

The banana whip (with peanut butter) is a long time favorite desert of ours. It’s a fun healthy treat. All their choices are great.

Bashful banana is an excellent choice when on the boardwalk and - added bonus - you are eating healthy while you don’t feel like it’s a sacrifice. Go hear if you care about your ingredients! It’s great!

I have personally never left a review before for a restaurant because i believe in supporting local businesses but this was just beyond unacceptable. In the hour that my party of 3 waited for our food, we were maybe lucky to see our waitress once. Took about 45 minutes to get a simple black coffee. When the food arrived, to our disappointment it was stone cold. My friend’s avocado toast was possibly the saddest looking dish i’ve ever seen. It looks like it was replicated using one of the pre-packaged guacamole containers you could find at a supermarket. Coupling this with the fact that they charged a whopping $10 for it, I just cannot genuinely in my heart of hearts recommend this place to anyone. The shore is already expensive, but for the price there are multitudes of better restaurants for the price.

They have a great menu with so many clearly labeled options. Everything vegan and vegetarian are labeled and easy to determine. I had the vegan BBQ pork sandwich (a special) and the chocolate covered strawberry scone and both were amazing. It was the perfect treat for the boardwalk. I will definitely be back this summer.

The bashful banana is hands down my favorite eatery in OCNJ! :) The staff are always so kind and work very hard to make every customers experience one to remember. It's nice to have a place on the boardwalk that serves fresh real food with healthy options!

Very small inside dining, plenty of room outside. Wish the weather was nicer. Had the spinach florentine omelet. Eggs were overcooked with mozzarella cheese that seemed like it was cooked out of the omelet. Meaning very little cheese. Waitress was young girl but very pleasant.
