Cathy's 14th Street Bakery

This pink palace produces some perfectly amazing donuts. Ours were hot and fresh. We tried the ring donuts with sprinkles and a cream filled piece of heaven. They were all phenomenal, and served in a pretty pink box. So good!!

Today was my first experience at Cathy's and with a line wrapped around the corner I was hopeful that this was the place, but sadly it is rather generic and not worth an hour wait in line. I was told the powdered cream donuts are the best in the world, and while the pastry cream filling was certainly one of the best I've ever had, the donut itself was very dense and dry, not light and fluffy like a cream donut should be. I also got a cinnamon-sugar cake donut that fell apart as soon as I bit into it; the crusty outer layer did not hold together with the inner cake of the donut (usually a sign of frying oil not being changed regularly). As for the cheese danish I got, the cheese tasted very sour and old. It is also fairly expensive here. I understand it is the shore, but $3.50 for ONE donut seems a bit excessive when there are more affordable options within walking distance.

The waiting experience was great. They had fans that mist. It definitely made the hot wait much better. The donuts are great size and have a lot of different flavors.

Amazing cream filled donut. Simply the best.

Kathy’s Bakery is a hidden gem in Ocean City! Their cream-filled donuts are not only some of the best around but also huge and deliciously satisfying—they’re worth every bite! Kathy is an incredible baker, and her cakes are absolutely gorgeous, perfect for any special occasion. Plus, the bakery is family-owned by locals who are as kind as they come, making every visit feel like stopping by a friend’s place. Love supporting this amazing local spot. Highly recommend!

This is hands down, the best donut I have ever had in my forty years. I can’t even think of a second. The cream is light. The donut a perfect balance of doughy and crispy. The powdered sugar perfectly sifted. Cathy’s is doing something exceptional.

Very bad experience here today unfortunately. Waited in line at 9:30am for 30 min and no Boston cream donuts available for the remainder of the day. Store hours posted to open at 7:30am but a hand written note on the door said the store will open at 8am. They’re only open from 8-12:30 and have no product by 10am and still allow people to stand in line for more than 30 minutes just to leave empty handed. It’s mid august in Ocean City NJ. Get it together please.

I just want to say, if you’re going to a donut shop where the employees can stack multiple at a time, I’d be questioning the freshness and softness of the donuts. Also, for those who think the line should and would move more quickly with more workers behind the counter, have you considered this is purposeful because the donuts run out quickly even at the pace they go? More are always coming out but not immediately, so you’d be hurrying up to wait. Cathy’s ALWAYS has a line for at least the first two hours of the day anyway, and that has nothing to do with the pace of the workers and everything to do with the quality of the product. If you’re not willing to wait, there are plenty of other bakeries on the island who never have a line. You could try one of those and save some Cathy’s for the rest of us!

Very fresh donuts! Lots of other amazing looking bakery items as well. Wish I'd gotten two or three now, lol. Definitely will be back tomorrow. I did also get a chocolate milk for my kid. Didn't realize it was organic reduced fat. It did not taste like chocolate milk. My kid hated it, as did I. Just go for the bakery items.
