Mallon's Homemade Sticky Buns

While the sticky and cinnamon buns are excellent, the butter cake is to die for. I grew up near a German bakery who made a prolific butter cake. Mallon's is right up there with theirs.

First time disappointed at Mallon’s
Price increased to $26 a dozen , and the dozen is only 6 full size buns and 6 half size buns. Need to get 12 full size buns for the price . Plan to share embarrassed to cut in half ?

I felt that the girls that were working Saturday morning, were lacking a friendly present, didn’t say good morning when we walked in. and weren’t very friendly. Took out orders with an attitude as if they were in a rush. Donuts were small and expensive, we wide up spending $48 . They could have been nicer .

FANTASTIC!!!

I ended up getting way more than I anticipated and I didn’t regret it one bit. We got three donuts to share. They were cakey in consistency, fresh, warm, and very good.

The coffee cake was also very good. It was a harder topping than I preferred, but it was still very good!

The iced cinnamon rolls were phenomenal! We got one to share, which was my only regret.

And of course the sticky buns. At first I wasn’t happy that I had to buy them by the dozen and couldn’t just get a couple. Fortunately, you can get two different half dozens. So we got the plain sticky buns and the peach (fresh jersey peaches). Both were fantastic. I was glad I ended up having so many left over!

My suggestion, is to hit them early in the week if you are staying down for a length of time. Then you can have plenty left over for the week with your coffee at home.

The place was SUPER busy when I got there on a Monday morning at 7:30. The line was out the door. I was waited on in less than 5 minutes. Service was fast!

It is CASH only, so come prepared (they have an ATM on premises but I’m sure the bank will likely take a nice fee to use it).

You can tell from the moment you smell the cinnamon outside that whatever you choose to purchase will be delicious! There’s not a lot of room inside, so a line sometimes forms on the sidewalk. A nice gentleman was at the door letting people in and out to keep crowding to a minimum. Sticky buns were tasty and reasonably priced. Know before you go- CASH ONLY! (I had to go back out to my car and pray that I had an emergency $20 in my glove compartment!)?
