Absolutely insane prices. My mom ordered one of their special salads that they recommended... charged her about $30 and then she asked to replace the shrimp with chicken.. charged her an extra $7 without even mentioning it. Literally robbed, don't go here.

July 2022 Not what it was when I last ate here in 2018. The complementary garlic bread served was dry and extremely generic. Prices are way up and not because portions sizes increased, as well. $3.50 for a small bottled water and the same for a small lemonade, both served in a paper cup. Both the vodka sauce and marinara were very forgettable and I also didn’t care that the waitress tried to slip in shrimp as if it was no big deal even though it was another $9, so I'm glad I caught that. Marinara was a watery, tasteless excuse for an Italian staple. Bathroom was a mess, too. And the careless waitress charged me for the wrong bill at $89, and then she begrudgingly had to refund it. So disappointing as it's night and day from last time here.

I went in for my birthday coffee and the blonde pretty lady and the staff said happy birthday and made me a amazing coffee drink! Then I brought my family and friends ( group of 8 back for my birthday breakfast!

Waiter was good but the food was subpar. $20+ salads that 2 people didn’t care to finish and the rest was just not worth the high price we paid. Also, no drink orders taken prior to ordering food? It’s hot on the boardwalk and we’re thirsty!

Are dinner experience at Ocean Cafe 7th and the boardwalk OCNJ was the worst Italian meal I have had anywhere and I am not a picky eater. We had Homemade Lasagna and chicken Parm I can’t find the words to explain how awful both meals were. The bread was another story. The one in charge also in front of everyone in the restaurant and everyone outside at tables could hear her,reprimanded our waiter for giving us the dressing that we chose. Itwas just and awful experience and I will never go back and neither will my son and his wife. We don’t know how they stay in business if this is what they are serving their customers.

The owner if this establishment certifiably insane!! I worked 2 days and walked out because of how she treats employees and staff. As a waitress we are not allowed to run Any food, they have 1 girl that expedites and runs it AND we have to pay her to do it from the little tips we make. We do not make many tips because it is cash tip only and we cannot tell the customer that until they pay the bill. Even if we get stepped on a tip we still have to tip out the food right now. Maria the owner takes any party of six or more for herself so as a server we do not even get large parties. Again no exceptions. We are not allowed to talk to your chef, we are not allowed to bring drinks to the table before putting your food order in. Again no exceptions. She will not do a rotation or section for the server if you were not standing at the door you lose your table. How can we stand at the door if she runs us around doing 100 things at once for her cleaning! The bathrooms actually do work she just does not want customers in them because she is OCD and makes every employee clean the bathroom every time they use it. When a customer tried to complain because they could not put a tip on the credit card she got nasty with him and told him who are you to question me. Once that man left I got yelled at and was told never to tell people she is the owner tell them the owner is away sunbathing in Italy. She constantly yells at employees and does not care if she does it in front of customers. I feel bad for these young kids that it’s their first job and they are exposed to a psycho like this. You cannot do any substitutions for food. It is very overpriced for the quality. When I told her she needs to read the reviews people have left about her she responded with I don’t care what people say. She also does not pay employees. She said they make enough money in tips. No the service do not because most tables will stiff you with their cash only tip policy. STAY AWAY !!! I wouldn’t not give this lunatic a dime !!! There are many other places to eat !!!
We stopped at Ocean Cafe when their colorful chalkboard with breakfast specials caught my eye. Their regular menu items included a variety of traditional eggs, meats, fresh fruit, etc. It’s been a wearing 2-1/2 years of hospital work, and I’m slowly adjusting to post-COVID life outside of the medical setting. Still, I’m cautious about dining out and I try to avoid crowds. It was a relief to see that tables were set with paper napkin-wrqpped plastic utensils and a bottle of hand sanitizer; my hot, fresh coffee was served in a paper cup with plastic stirrer. Half-and-half creamer cups were provided in a plastic dish. My son enjoyed French toast with syrup, home fries, eggs over medium, and rye toast. Hot, right off the griddle and satisfying. Apple jelly and butter pats were again provided in a plastic dish. The omelette with broccoli, tomatoes, cheddar and bacon was cooked perfectly: not dry and not runny. It was served with salsa, toast, home fries and a chunk of watermelon. Colton was an attentive server; empty plates, cups, napkins, etc. were removed throughout our meal. Our check was offered without our having to hunt him down. Our food was prepared fresh to order and portions were generous; we’d normally eat less, but it was a satisfying meal that sustained us through a full day of Boardwalking, swimming, and exploring Ocean City. We plan to go back again before summer’s end, and will definitely return to Ocean Cafe!

I ate here on Saturday August 14th. We were hungry and the choices are slim for a nice dinner on the boardwalk. Right away I was taken aback by a woman inside screaming about other employees. I said to my husband man they need to get ride of that employee she is toxic. Turns out she is the owner, Maria. I know this because the situation with the employees got progressively worse throughout our meal. The server was a nice kid working very hard. Maria, along with the hostess, were screaming at this kid right in front of where we were trying to enjoy our meal. We felt really bad for him and told him he was doing a great job. He said he only had one week left and was so glad to be leaving. Honestly, the food wasn't bad but the owner seemed completely insane. It wasn't just our server. She was complaining about other members of the staff loudly. I think this woman needs therapy ASAP. Also another annoying item. Cash tips only. Weird.

My family and I just recently had dinner at the Ocean Cafe on 8/4/21. While we were eating my daughter found a piece of wire in her mouth that was in her Chicken Alfredo. We showed the waitress, she went into the back with the wire in hand and came back to the table stating they didn't know how it go into the food! No refund was offered or an apology! I should have demanded to see the manager, but I didn't want to make a scene! I will NEVER go back! The attitude about the whole situation was handled very poorly! Thank God my daughter didn't swallow the wire!

16.95 for a hamburg with cheese supposed to be Angus Beef looked like frozen patties . I wanted it medium but it was obvious it had been frozen was dry as a bone no flavor was awful I asked for tap water they dont have. The waitress told me no tap water how do they wash dishes just throw them out. Only bottle water [ some no brand name water ] for three dollars . Grilled cheese on kids menu 2 pcs of bread and two slices of cheese 8.95 Then you can only leave cash tips. This place is the worst i ever was in the owner of he business was on a phone call reff estate property's of her deceased father. She was talking loud that we heard the entire conversation and was still on the phone when we left took 1 hour to get in and get out.. Dinners should not be subjected to this kind of behavior there is an office and that is where she should of been . The food was really terrible the place is a dirty dive and tourists in ocean city should avoid this place

The waitress who we originally had contact with to get a table was very rude and ignorant like we were bothering her . We had to ask for out drinks because the waiter forgot to bring them . We noticed while waiting for our food that 1 woman was running back and forth from kitchen with trays of meals for the tables and serving while the waiters and waitresses just took orders . We were like oh I hope she gets the tips (which she probably doesn’t ) . We had our food which was ok and then when finished wanted to pay out bill with 2 debit cards. The waiter DID not do 2 transaction we noticed the next day and when my friend called she got the ignorant waitress from yesterday and she wasn’t helpful at all just rude and ignorant once again. I have never had that kind of experience any where on the ocean city boardwalk but I can tell you I will NEVER return or recommend ocean cafe to anyone !!!
