The hard ice cream was good.I like the idea of self served soft serve and choose on your own toppings. But some of the machines looked broken down.There were a bunch of teenagers behind the counter messing around. Just seemed a little shady.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I cant believe this place is still running. Went with my kids and found it dirty and no other customers (on a hot summer night... that's a clue). The toppings looked like they had been sitting out for days. The worker never looked at us or spoke to us. It was like we were in the twilight zone. Our icecream was super grainy so we ended up throwing it away and going up on the boardwalk for icecream.

Very sad to see that kids were fooling around behind the counter..not sure if they all even worked there. It was dirty and not maintained considering there were about 6 teenagers behind the counter. We had been coming here for years and always had a great experience, saw it finally opened back up after COVID. Was saddened to see the quality and conditions go downhill.

My family and I have been going for the past 9 years. We walked in last night and could not believe the condition of the shop. First the air didn’t work, then there were a bunch of kids behind the counter talking and when we went to get toppings we had no idea what was what because nothing was labeled and there was food all over the counter and floor. It’s very sad

We have been going to Ocean City NJ for years. The original owner sold this to another nice family and last year in 2021 it was still a great experience. This year (2022) it was aweful. We walked in and there was no employee to be seen. We walked up and got our ice cream then went to the toppings bar which was nothing short of disgusting. If my kids weren’t looking so forward to this, I would have walked out. Employee finally popped up his head, he must have been sitting down behind the counter. He didn’t greet us , didn’t say a word. The toping are now self service instead of topped by the employee based on request. 1/2 of the toppings were missing, and it was dirty, like really dirty. We walked to the register, still no words from the one employee. I asked a question and he said “yeah”. The tables were dirty, the bench outside is broken and a hazard to anyone who sits on it. Don’t go here. Go to Hobby Horse right down the street or a place on the boardwalk. Very sad this gem has taken a downward spiral. The original owners were great and we would always visit multiple times during our stay in OC. Never again. GROSS. (I’m hoping the owner will see this so they know what is going on). Oh- final observation. As we are outside on the porch while the kids eating their ice cream we look inside. We can see the employee still on his phone, sitting behind the counter, and we can see into the kitchen/ back room. There was a gallon of milk sitting on the counter. It’s 84 degrees today. How long has the milk been sitting there?. NEVER AGAIN

Only giving one star because it won’t let me provide a statement without at least one star. My wife and I have been coming down this place for 10 plus years. Always loved it. Good ice cream and friendly service. NOT THE CASE ANYMORE. Started noticing a decline last year but figured it was due to COVID and gave the new owners the benefit of the doubt. Went in tonight and was told that everything was closed. It was 10:22pm , hours online state they are open to 11 pm. Kid that was working didn’t seem to care that he was turning business away, was not pleasant at all. Place looks dirty and no longer inviting to customers. Plenty of other ice cream places to go to in OCNJ, the way this place is going , won’t be around much longer anyway.

Only 1 worker there on July 21st at 7:45pm. He was a total j**** Not at all happy to see any customers, lied about having clean ice cream scoops in the back, grainy tasting soft serve. I will absolutely NEVER GO BACK. Such a shame.
Great service. People are super nice. Multiple workers. Ice cream is honestly pretty good. Clean place. Would recommend!
