The kind of place you just see less and less of these days, and that is most unfortunate. This is a comfort food place, and they nail it! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I wish I had this in Florida, but I will be back when in NJ for sure.
I am Celiac and my niece will send me suggestions for GF restaurants whenever she comes across something on social media. This time it was Old Bridge Family Diner! What a gem. The owner is Celiac so they are very knowledgeable. They have a designated dryer and so many of their dinner favorites are made GF. They had a creamy tomato and rice soup that was fantastic. They make GF homemade gravy which gives you the option of ordering disco fries or open face sandwiches on really good...
We ate here twice on our recent vacation to NJ (we used to be local but moved many years ago). Our food was exceptional both times, and the perfect diner fare that you look for out of a classic NJ diner.
