If you only eat soup here, it would be okay. I was so surprised after eating ssambap today. Usually, when it comes to ssambap, there is a lot of ssam vegetables, but there was so little of it that I wondered if it was undercooked.. The soybean paste wasn't that good and the meat was tough. ㅠㅠ If you're going to eat ssambap, this place is not good at all. It's not cheap, but I was angry!

Clean & no tip is good. Food is generally good, except when you go a bit late. The sausage comes out bloated & blown. I wish they would just give it as separate item like before. All you can eat kimchi means I can dial down on salt & fill myself with kimchi. I go there may be every other week.A trend of self service appears to be taking shape. A god (blasphemy if in cap) of Jjambbong or 짬뽕의 신 just opened up with same concept. No tip & taxes.

It's a shame. The taste has changed and I don't know if it's seolleongtang or hot water. It tastes too watery. It'll be difficult if I don't do it.

Tried this place on a Saturday afternoon. We were told to order then help ourselves to water and kimchi. I think this "no tip" concept is getting popular in this area and I like how affordable our meal was. We paid about $22 for two soups which is crazy in this economy. The place was spacious with many tables and seats. Since this began as a hot pot restaurant, there were many tables meant for six people. We felt odd as a couple sitting at such a large table but thank goodness it wasn't too busy. The now defunct hot pot warmers look so odd when they don't even offer hot pot anymore, but I digress. My husband ordered the soondae soup and I opted for the seolleongtang. I thought my seolleongtang was just ok. I liked my husband's soup much better. Mine lacked substance. My husband's was packed with meat and the soondae was very tasty. The radish kimchi is so good that I got up for seconds and thirds. We will definitely visit again.

This use to be a hot pot restaurant turned food-court style gukbap (soup and rice) restaurant. Everything is self-service so there is no need to tip. There’s a station for kimchi, which there is pretty good, and one for ssam (lettuce wrap). They have two stand out dishes that most come here for, the beef and blood sausage soup, both are only $10 when dining in ($2 extra for take out). They are not the best I’ve had but is a really good for $10. Portions are decent and they don’t overly seasoned with salt. It’s on the blander side but it’s still pretty acceptable for me. Parking is limited in the area.

They charge at the entrance, I was guessing why?! Then we got not what we are was ordered, they bring as some fish with a lot of bones (I do not eat fish ) . So as an exchange they gave as cheapest soup instead to offer something better . Soup came with hair inside. Instead to offer as refund they told as that we will get something next time . So we left this restaurant hungry and I still feel that I was robed for such a horrible experience. Worst place I ever visited.

This is not the best gukbap (soup and rice) spot even in the area but for the value, it's really good. For ten bucks (dine in is $2 more), you get a decent bowl of soup with a good amount of protein. It's food court style so everything is self service, which I don't really mind. This also means no need to tip. The beef and blood sausage soup are the two that are $10 and it seems to be what everyone gets. They also have a wheat pancake that goes for $7 and is decent but not really an outstanding value like the $10 gimbals. Their other dishes range from $16+ but I have t tried those. Parking is very limited in this area, you can try using the large lot by ShopRite if you are desperate. For a $10 bowl of soup, it's hard to find anything better for that price. Worth trying if you are in the area.

Love the food here. Price is reasonable, the service is self-help so tip is not needed. Owner is super nice. Place is marked and will visit often.

I think folks would be drawn to here due to no tip required. It is a self serve (get water, kimchi, etc yourself) restaurant. This used to be a hotpot restaurant so the tables have the hot pot heaters. They have radish kimchi and lettuce kimchi available. For the ssam/wrap options, I saw steamed cabbage, lettuce, raw cabbage, raw garlic, and ssam jang. For a ssam bap place, I think the types of wraps is lacking unless they provide more if you order a ssam bap meal. The gom tang and soondaegook were not bad. Nothing mind blowing but it's pretty much what you expect for 10 bucks in this economy. This spot is right next to toksokchon. The gomtang didn't have much noodles. The broth was pretty bland so I felt that I had to compensate it with too much salt. If you want a quick, food court type vibe spot, this is not a bad choice. I haven't seen anyone order anything but the 10 dollar special so I am not sure how the other dishes would be

There is a special promotion for Sundaeguk and Chadol Seolleongtang for $9.99, and since it is self-serving, there is no need to tip, so the price is very good. Kimchi and radish radish kimchi go well with the soup and are delicious.

The name of this restaurant literally means soup with rice (gukbap) and vegetable wraps with protein and rice (ssambap). It recently opened so my family decided to give two soups a try for a Saturday lunch. This restaurant winds up being more expensive when you order take out as it charges a take out container fee of $2 per dish. It also charges a convenience fee if you pay with a credit card instead of cash. The restaurant espouses a no-tip model, so expect minimal service when you eat in. The two dishes that we ordered were just average. Blood sausage soup (soondaeguk) is what you would expect with the blood sausage and a mixture of offal. Spicy intestine beef soup (haenaetang) was also just okay -- it was an interesting mixture of beef parts that is typically not the norm for this dish and missing some offal that typically is a part of this dish. Still, I did appreciate that both dishes didn't seem to be drowning in salt, which does tend to be the case for some Korean restaurants. Kimchi was not bad; the radish kimchi was tastier than the regular napa cabbage kimchi. If you're in the area and craving soup on a cold day, this restaurant would be a good option. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat from here, especially if I am looking for take out.
