I recently went to a Korean BBQ place in New Jersey for the first time with my boyfriend, and it was a really fun experience! We went there for dinner, and overall, it was a nice spot to try something different. The price was on the expensive side, but I guess they do things a bit differently here, so it felt special.
The meat tasted super fresh and was cooked perfectly. What’s cool about this place is that they cook the meat for you at the table, so you don’t have to do it yourself. It’s a great way to enjoy the food without worrying about overcooking it! The unlimited side dishes were definitely a win. There were so many to choose from, and they kept refilling them, which was a nice bonus. The side dishes added a lot of variety to the meal, and everything was fresh and flavorful.
The service was really nice, too. The staff was friendly and respectful, and we even had a little chat with them, which made the experience feel more personal. They were attentive and made sure everything was going smoothly.
While the food was delicious, I did feel a bit hungry after the meal since the portions weren’t super big. For the price, I expected to leave feeling full, but that wasn’t quite the case. Because it’s a bit expensive, I think this place is better for special occasions or important events rather than a casual dinner.
Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d consider coming back for a special event. The fresh meat, unlimited sides, and great service made it a memorable first visit!

Service was good and servers were very attentive. However, the meat quality was so bad… it wasn’t tender or juicy at all. I have been to many Korean BBQ restaurants in NJ. This is by far the worst quality of the meat.

I've been going here for 10 years, great place.
I've been coming to So Moon Nan Jip for years, and even after moving to Florida, it's still my go-to spot when I'm in town for business. Their soup is the best I've ever had—nothing else compares!
My husband and I love this place, we are lovers of spicy food and the spicy totu beef stew is perfect for us. The BBQ and side dishes with a bottle of warm sacki is fantastic.

The food was average, but the server was very friendly.
In my time at a New Jersey restaurant, this is the first time I've seen someone serve me before I even ask for what I need.

I had bibimbap for lunch, but it was mostly cooked vegetables and had no taste.

They put up a banner saying they were having a 30th anniversary sale, and it was completely a fishing lure... I ordered a rib cold noodle combo, but they said they were out of stock and told me to order another menu... How can they deceive customers like that?
They say they ran out of food at dinnertime around 7:30.
I ordered a combo of monkfish stew, tripe hotpot, and ribs, and it was salty and sweet.
There was no seasoning at all.

Very disappointed. This used to be my favorite Korean BBQ, but gone completely south with food. I was embarrassed for bringing my friends here. Clean and good service, but if the food is bad, I will never go back.

There aren't many places to have breakfast in Palpak.
Somunmanjip opens at 8 o’clock.
I ate soybean paste stew for breakfast.
The side dishes are fresh and the fried eggs and stewed tofu are delicious.
It's been a long time since I had a satisfying meal at Palpak, so I'm leaving a review.
The Korean female employee who serves alone in the morning answers the phone brightly and kindly and provides service.
I had a really pleasant and delicious meal.
If you want to eat Korean food, I recommend this famous restaurant.

My all-time favorite. Been coming here for over 20 years. It's still one of the best Korean restaurants in Pal Park if not the best. From really tender and flavorful galbi to traditional Korean soups, this place is consistently good! Oh, they still use traditional BBQ briquettes to cook the meats.
