John's Famous Bagels and Deli

This place frequently gets orders wrong. You have maybe a 50% chance of getting the item you want. Several times they’ve given me a different sandwich than what I ordered.

The last straw was when I asked for a “Crispy Bacon Egg and Cheese” and received what might be the several of the least cooked pieces of bacon I’ve ever been given. Genuinely awful. At this point I’m not even sure if it’s safe to eat.

And the worst part is these issues have been going on for so long, they respond to feedback on their google form, but they don’t actually make any changes. “Your feedback means so much to us” is a bunch of lies. They’ve been bad for a long time, and if you’re reading this they are still probably bad.

While I’m complaining, they have this big art piece in the back that’s also really ugly. That’s not important, but it’s there.

Sign outside says turkey and cheese on bagel 6.99. I ordered it she charged me 12 dollars I told her about the sign outside and she said next time you have to tell me about the special because that special is made with less turkey and cheese.
How much less than the two slices of cheese and turkey?

Extremely overpriced and dont get what you pay for at all. Got a taylor ham egg and cheese on a roll and was shocked when it was almost 10 dollars. Opened up the sandwich to one slice of taylor ham. Not great

I was appalled today at the service and attitude that I received today by the lady who was on the counter taking orders. She was soo rude and I cant believe she said that I don't know English when it is my first language. I reached there asking for vegetable panini ( I repeated myself 4 times as she couldn't hear me) and then she nodded and went. she came back asking me bun or something which I couldn't understand inspite of asking her couple of times and then she just left without explaining what the second option was. because with panini I always had it with flat bread ( last 7 years in WCL) and then after waiting for 7-8 mins I saw two omelets being cooked and I asked her when she is going to start the panini and she said what panini?? She yelled at me saying that I asked for vegetarian omelet. I told her that no I clearly asked for vegetarian panini.. on hearing that she rolled her eyes and said that I don't know how to speak English..( her exact words) and she walked away pulling the flatbread/tortilla and throwing it on counter angrily and speaking over me ... This is the second time I have this experience here where they don't pay attention and then give you attitude.. I went back to my usual Johns bagel which is on 94 Broadway and they could read my face that I was upset.. and got the bagel from them as they didn't have all the ingredients .. the owner was very sweet and he said that he can quickly grab the ingredients from shoprite and make the panini for me..it was the sweetest thing. Infact I first went to them only but since they couldn't today because of running out f ingredients, I thought to give this horrible place (in ridgemont shopping center) a second chance, but they don't deserve the second chance.. that Spanish lady needs tutoring in customer skills as well as listening skills. she almost ruined my morning .. no one wants to see or experience such arrogance in the morning at least.

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how well cared for, organized, and above all clean it is here. Not a drip of coffee on the bar, meats were wrapped well, no crumbs on the prep area, grill was clean, and the busy prep area was also spotless. It’s so nice to see pride in workmanship especially in the restaurant industry. This was in addition to the kind service I received. Surely a tough job and I appreciate the hard work and attention put in here. Well done - I’ll be back!

Bought a blueberry bagel, now blueberry’s. Just blue food dye

Ridiculous place.. no line order I was waiting and 2 people walked in who the cashier took the order from before me. If the owner cares this happend July 20th around 10:35am

Great bagels made fresh everyday... The staff is pleasant and fast even right at opening! They even take little orders over the phone if you grabbing a quick breakfast in the way to work!

The panini was terrible and the wait was even worse. Took 25 minutes for them to microwave my chicken and charge me $20. Avoid at all costs.

Best bagels outside of NYC. Have yet to see anything that comparea. Hard crust soft inside

I came to this restaurant on my way to see a patient and i was the 1st person to come into and the spanish lady took someone else order before mine than took mine and than about to 6 other customers came in and she cooked everyone food they all got there order before me and i was still standing there waiting. I told her after paying for my food not to worry about it and i left and did not want the money back. I can only assume because i’m black and everyone else was white and spanish is why my service went the way it did. This was my 1st and last time coming there and i will let my fellow black nurses know not to come here
