built my first ofrenda this year and came to la jarochita in search of pan de muerto. i have been trying to honor the tradition respectfully and felt that supporting a local mexican business was the right way of doing it.

this is an authentic mexican bakery, i could tell just by walking in. the environment is very homey and welcoming, the ladies that run the front are sweet and informative.
one of the women explained to me that you grab a tray and your serve yourself the bread you want and then you take it to the counter.

so i asked for a few opinions and chose a bunch of options. i left with pan de muerto and a bunch of other pastries / bread.
it was very affordable!

everything is fresh and a lot of them are still warm fresh from the oven!
the taste is very good.
happy i came.
recommend and will be back!
much as gracias!!

If I could rate 0 stars i would. Rude older lady cashier who tried to overcharge.

I must say this is definitely one of the best "Panaderias" in New Jersey! The "Pan Mexicano" (mexican bread) is always fresh and well taken care of. There is also a Mexican grocery store at this location, which, to me, is so convenient.

Parking: Be prepared to double park because parking is definitely a challenge!

The bread is very good, only the attention that some workers there give is what would change, when someone asked for a tray the lady responded with a bad attitude and a bad temper, and one greets her out of politeness and she only looks bad, but the rest I think the bread is very tasty and there is a good variety of bread.

It's one of my favorite bakeries! I live 45 minutes from here but it's worth the trip. The only thing that sometimes there is an older lady with a very rude attitude. He is always in a bad mood and gives food in a bad way. I lose the desire to return, if it weren't for how tasty the bread is I wouldn't come back. The other younger lady is nice. But from then on I recommend that you try bread!

Freshest Mexican bread reminds me of the bakeries in Puebla .. that smell of freshly baked pan de dulce ! Everything I had so far is so delicious and worth the 40 minute drive !
