I had an unforgettable experience at Mamasushi Passaic. The waitress Karen was exceptional, super attentive and with the best recommendations for drinks and food. She even prepared the drinks herself! Without a doubt, one of the best services I have received at a restaurant in Passaic. The DJ also played great music and the entire team, from the other waiters to the hookers, was excellent. I will definitely return. If you visit, be sure to ask for Karen for the best service. Highly recommended!

Food and atmosphere were excellent. HOWEVER, they tried to be slick with the bill. My husband and I ordered a dumpling appetizer, 3 different sushi rolls, and 2 sodas, yotaling $95. When the waitress brings the check, the receipt just shows the overall total, no itemized breakdown, with a tip line, and signature line. So I flag her down and ask for the itemized receipt where clearly they added an 18% service charge that was never mentioned, and they charge $4 per small fountain soda plus $4 to refill. Insane!!!! Servers are looking for double tips. I know the economy is bad, but that shady stuff is not okay. Check your receipt folks!

I was really excited to come here when mama sushi open in dyckman I was there all the time and I thought this one ( Passaic,NJ) was gonna be just as cool but , The food was okay I didn’t finish anything I order , service was okay the waitress was very nice, but I think the issue was that they needed more service staff I order a drink and NEVER GOT IT but I didn’t make a deal of it cus it looked like they needed more staff. The decor looked dated the wall art looks cool. BTW tip is included in the bill at 18% automatically I personally don’t like this. Meaning “TIP- a gift or a sum of money tendered for a service performed” Adding a tip to bill and not having the customer determine the percentage to give for services rendered explains the lackluster service provided.

I am currently at the restaurant now, we had a reservation for 7pm, we were seated at 715 and just now at 825pm received some of our drinks after an hour of waiting. We haven’t received our food and no apology from our waiter. They are having a comedy event inside and should have refused reservations if they couldn’t handle the capacity. When we first came inside, instead of being greeted, we were asked if we had a ticket for the event. That should have been a red flag just by the initial interaction. We were informed that they have no cups for water and if we would take bottled water, we said okay and then we were then charged 6 DOLLARS for each Poland spring. We would have never ordered the bottled water if we knew we would be charged for it which the waitress never mentioned. Why would they offer this if they were going to charge us. We did not receive any utensils and practically had to beg for utensils when we received one of our appetizers after over 30 min waiting. The waitress Lilibeth messed up our entree and drinks 6 times so far because she did not write our orders down. We still have not received any apology or explanation for the wait or mistake with our orders, just a frustrated attitude. I am very disappointed in the service we have received and I am positive we will not be coming back. When we brought up these issues, she got extremely defensive, doubled down and offered no apologies again. This is really inexcusable.

First and last. The service is e. I went to see the stand up comedy show on August 10. I arrived at 5:20 and at 5:45 no one was helping me. I asked 2 waitresses to order and they both told me that they would look for my waitress and in the end the first one I asked was the one who took my order and with attitude. In my opinion, in a place where you are paying for a service apart from an entrance fee, they should not treat you as if it were free and even if it were free, it should not be. I hope they improve that.
