Excellent restaurant, amazing food, and high quality service
This restaurant is simply outstanding. From the delicious apps to the falafel plate to the tender beef shwarma - everything was perfectly seasoned and presented. This is top chef level cooking that is worth the trip to Paterson. Cant wait to return for the mixed grill!
they openly support violence and murder against ethnic and religious minorities
They have two locations. One for take out and one for restaurant dining. Went to the one on 387 crooks ave Paterson Nj. The restaurant is beautiful and extremely inviting. Pleasant warm atmosphere with modern but rustic decor. The service was fantastic. Ordered the mix platter and wasn’t expecting the portion size. Needless to say I have luck and dinner for tomorrow and I’m not upset about that at all. The food was delicious fresh and very well prepared. Will definitely be coming back for more. Best middle eastern food in the area. Just make sure you bring your appetite. Prices were low to reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. Great value. Food was a 10/10. Service was a 15/10. Wonderful experience.
Wassim is a charming and charismatic host, which enhances the enjoyment of the dishes served with remarkable attention and professionalism. We particularly appreciated his delicate attention to speaking to us in French and ensuring our complete satisfaction. We highly recommend this nugget, nestled in the heart of Paterson, to all our friends and acquaintances, because it deserves to be discovered by the whole world. Along with the other waiters, Wassim is undoubtedly the key to the success and longevity of this restaurant. Thank you, Wassim! You were the reason for our last two visits, and we assure you that they will not be the last. See you soon!
Stopped in on a Saturday at around 1 to pick up some lunch after another place nearby that we wanted to try wasn't open yet. We ordered at the counter but it looked like most people were waiting for pick-up orders that they called ahead for. And I can see why. When placing our order, they told us it would take 30 minutes but it was closer to 40. I guess they're either really popular or really understaffed because it doesn't even take 30 minutes for food to come out when you dine in at restaurants in general. The menus on their screen doesn't have prices, which was kind of shady to me. Luckily, I found one on Google. The person taking our order wasn't too helpful when we asked how much food was in the MIx Mashawi for four people - he just said, "It's enough food for four people." We had six people so we just ended up getting the four people platter, and ordering an extra chicken shawarma plate and some falafel. The Mix Mashawi comes with kofta kebab, chicken kebab, shish kebab, and beef or chicken shawarma, served on a bed of rice, and shepherd's salad. It also comes with fresh pita that they make in house. This was more than enough food for 6 people. We had enough leftovers for another lunch for all of us the next day, so we didn't even need to order the extra shawarma. The portions are very generous. My favorites were the kofta kebab, chicken kebab, and chicken shawarma. The beef shawarma and shish kebab were a bit dry. The falafel was good but we ordered that halfway through waiting for our initial order, and that tacked on another 10 minutes to our wait time. I'd come back but next time, I would either order ahead, or dine in at the dine-in location, so at least if I end up waiting that long, it'll be hot/fresh when the food does arrive.
This place advertises itself as “quick serve,” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I waited 18 minutes for a cold chicken sandwich and cold French fries. The only item that was actually hot was the kibbeh—but even that was overcooked. I asked for fresh fries, but they couldn’t get them ready before I finished my meal. Overall, it was a huge disappointment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I love Al Basha and would order them once a week if possible. The hummus is creamy and delicious, and their falafel has a great crunch to it. The pita bread is so soft and fresh, and their Arabic salad is so refreshing. Don’t get me started on the meats! Everything here is soooo good. The sandwiches would be the more affordable option, but if you get the full blown dinner, you will not be disappointed!

Took an hour to serve my beef shawarma.
After they finally got the food, nothing to comment about how late the food was.
Food is good, but the service is awful.

Al-Basha Restaurant, located in the Arab neighborhood in the state of Njris, offers authentic Arabic taste, especially for Semitic dishes. Their prices are reasonable and accessible to everyone, and their food is also very delicious. Therefore, I recommend visiting it and it deserves five stars, especially those who work at it, from the reception to the official and all the employees.
