You find great food in unassuming places.Bornali cafe's malai chop sweet is one of the best Bangladeshi mishti I have had in a long time. I am not a fan of overly sweet desserts. Their malai chop has the right combination of sweetness which complements milky syrup it is drenched. Imagine the most delicious chana has a love child with the rasmalai of your dream that is his I would describe the malai chop. I would visit that place again only for that. The other items that we ordered also exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend if you are in Patterson area. The owner was also very nice and accommodating. Very neat and clean restaurant which is rare in many desi establishments

Worst lollipop chicken ever! I am an avid foodie and will try pretty much all halal food. The lollipop chicken had a nasty and tangy smell and the taste was horrendous. I took it back and asked the owner to taste his own food. He sniffed it and just returned the money. No apology from the restaurant. Spend your money elsewhere.

Amazing restaurant to eat authentic Bangladeshi food. I ordered mutton Kacchi that remind me Dhaka Kacxhi Biriyani. I will definitely come back and recommend this

The Mughlai Paratha was the only thing I ordered that was good. The butter chicken didn’t taste like it but some other curry, the naan and samosas were alright at best. I also ordered the haleem and chicken fried rice. The haleem looked and tasted like flavored water and the chicken fried rice had me questioning what I even ordered. I’m not sure what that was but it didn’t even resemble indo/bengali style fried rice with barely any pieces of meat. Real let down because I really did want to like this place. So hard to find any good halal Bengali or Indian food in Northern NJ.

Terrible! I got food poisoning from this restaurant. I bought a sweet doi and rasmalai and when I opened it I found hair in it.When I bite into the rasmalai there was hair inside the mithai.TERRIBLE! A health and food inspector should check the place.

Very enjoyable local Bangladeshi restaurant in Paterson New Jersey. The restaurant itself seemed newer and it was very clean. The prices were reasonable, varying from about $8 and entree to around $15 an entree. I highly recommend stopping by for Bengali / Indian food cuisine. Check out the photos for the dishes we ordered.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options for most dishes, and they were willing to prepare dishes vegetarian style, like the biryani.Parking: Free street parking along the road.Kid-friendliness: Baby and toddler high chairs available.

I loved the Curries here, but Biryani was just average. Tried the Mughlai Paratha for the 1st time and it was pretty good and filling. This place is more suitable for Take-out though, wouldn't recommend for dine in if you are visiting with family.

Top notch Bengali food in Patterson. We had a mix of vegetarian and non vegetarians in our group. The restaurant was very willing to prepare dishes as vegetarian and had a sizable mix of dishes for everyone. The ambiance was laid back, dishes came out pretty quickly with good service. It felt like they were making the dishes from scratch. Overall incredibly reasonable pricing, $8 to $15 per entree. Check out our photos, we would come again.
