I asked her why she didn't charge the two customers that were before me. She walked away without answering me and told the guy to deal with me. I had already taken a bite out of the empanada and put it back on the counter. The guy still wanted to charge me, I just looked at him and walked out.

Portions are generous, empanadas are stuffed full (outer pastry is unique; maybe not 100% traditional) We like their tamales a lot! The ownership may have changed; still offer a great variety of pastries like delicious pionono, budin (bread pudding), etc. They sell Peruvian items that are difficult to find in other stores, dry packaged emolliente, purple corn, various beans, panca, etc. I heard they sell relleno (chicken blood sausage) by the pound, but I have not bought it from here. There's a tiny cafe in the back of the store, plus a small counter with seats in the front. It is a popular place especially on Saturdays. We enjoy picking up a few items from here periodically.

I have mixed feelings. The food is good. The portions are fine even the prices are fair. What kills me is that the food comes out cold. Like really?? Get the kitchen in order.

They switch owners, they did some improvements with the store , but sadly they get rid of all the memorabilia that gave this place a particular charming. The food have change too. The previous owners used to have one of the best tamales I ever tried outside Peru, now the tamales were dry, I try also tried the combinado for breakfast , lomo and cau-cau, the cau-cau had the same taste but the lomo , tasted like if they took the meet from the asado and just they add the onions and tomato , did not taste bad only had the flavor of asado with the appearance of lomo(disappointed for a Peruvian girl) . They can't cut corners on the food or they lose their clientele, many of us were in the disposition to travel up to 2 hrs just to have a breakfast here, but now I will not do it anymore. Sad

Well below expectations. The food lacks flavor and does not taste fresh. The coffee is very dilute and bland, making it such a disappointment. Do not recommend.

i grew up eating here, getting BREAD HERE, tamales, everything. my parents almost every sunday go there to buy bread and food for breakfast. its a very nostalgic place for me, i have alot of memories there. THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS?. viva peru <3
