⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (27,000 STARS IF I COULD)
Is this a soul food spot or a Caribbean restaurant....Honestly it’s the best of both worlds.
Mamma's Kitchen is an absolute gem. The macaroni and cheese, stewed chicken, rice and beans, cabbage, fish—everything is delicious. No misses. Every plate hits.
I usually order the extra large, and let me tell you—it lasts two full days, and somehow the food tastes even better on day two. That’s how you know it’s real cooking.
The staff is outstanding—warm, professional, and welcoming. I always make sure to tip them well because great service deserves recognition.
I’ve eaten at countless Caribbean restaurants—New York alone has thousands. I’ve tried spots all over NYC, Long Island (including a solid one in Amityville), and many others. But this one right here in New Jersey Da Best ,(Sorry Maggie's you can't compete).
Mamma’s Kitchen takes the crown. Number one. Top of the line.
Keep doing exactly what you’re doing at Mama’s Kitchen.
Thank God for God. Blessings to everyone there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 — Mamma’s Kitchen, Paterson NJ
Mamma’s Kitchen in Paterson, New Jersey is truly one of the BEST Caribbean restaurants I’ve ever eaten at — and I’ve had Caribbean food all around the world, including right in Jamaica. New York has amazing Caribbean cuisine, but Mamma’s Kitchen sits at the top of the list.
I’m a loyal customer, and every single visit is exceptional. My usual order the extra-large stewed chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, and rice and beans is always seasoned perfectly and cooked with real authenticity. The flavor is consistent, rich, and absolutely delicious every time.
The staff deserves a huge thank-you. The cooks, servers, and everyone behind the counter are outstanding professional, warm, and always on point. The food is never an issue; it’s always a blessing.
Thank you, Mamma’s Kitchen. Much success, God bless, and I’ll see you soon.
Easily 10 🌟,s....

Meh. The portions are really good but the food itself is kinda middling. the rice & peas is bland, the oxtail could be better, but the Mac n Cheese is pretty good. As for service, there was a line but the staff wasn't rude or anything. Overall, not bad but not great either.

Very very rude… I think they believe because they sell food that it’s ok to be rude. They will not be taking any of my coins. Disgusting

Let me tell you something, you have to get the oxtails with rice and peas and steamed cabbage. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of rice, so I asked the young lady behind the counter if I could substitute some of the rice for extra vegetables, and she was more than willing to accommodate me—which was great service right off the bat! The food itself was delicious. The oxtails were tender, fall-off-the-bone perfection, and the amount of rice I had was just right. But the steamed cabbage and veggies were fantastic, having that slight, satisfying crunch that made them truly stand out. I truly enjoyed the food from here, and the young lady behind the counter was great! The food is delicious—stop in, you won't be disappointed!

Greedy unethical business practices. I used to order two large size porridge from them on ubereats roughly twice a week. After about a month or so I noticed they stopped offering the large size which is a $3.00 uncharge/addon from the extremely small size that they sell for $10.
Essentially greedy owners who decided fleecing their customers by charging $10 for 6-8oz of porridge vs $13 for the larger size. They have lost my business as I will never support this company moving forward.

It’s honestly a shame, because the food here is really good — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can tell the kitchen staff takes pride in what they do. But all of that gets overshadowed by how unbelievably rude and unprofessional the service is. The staff acts like they’re doing you a favor just by acknowledging you, and the attitude is consistent — cold, dismissive, and sometimes downright disrespectful.
I’m not the only one who feels this way. If you take a moment to read through other reviews, you’ll see the same pattern of complaints about rude service and unwelcoming staff. That says a lot about the management. When so many people notice the same thing, it’s clear the issue is being ignored.
It’s really disappointing because this could easily be a top-rated place if the customer service matched the quality of the food. Restaurants depend on repeat customers, and no matter how good the food is, people won’t come back if they’re treated poorly. Rude service doesn’t just ruin someone’s meal — it damages the restaurant’s reputation and drives business away.
Management seriously needs to step up, retrain their staff, and take these complaints seriously. With a better attitude and a little more respect for customers, this could be an amazing place. Until that happens, it’s hard to recommend coming here, no matter how good the food tastes.
The soup was abit salty, could go easy on the spices but reminds me of real Jamaican menu. The service is abit slow, wait time
is long which means business is good. Most people pre-order to go
