I stopped by this casual Palestinian restaurant after an almost 10 years hiatus. The decor has been slightly updated. I was there 2 days before the Muslims ended their Ramadan fast and preparing to celebrate Eid Mubarak on that Friday. The grilled meats combination platter was delicious and done well.Their service was so-so. The Male staff were polite for the most part. The females were standoffish, reserved and seemingly unfriendly to me although they didn't say anything...
The staff is extremely warm and welcoming....offering fresh hot cookies to sample. My waiter was also very efficient and eager to please. Those cookies were delicious! Circular with a date filling and not overly sweet. I had the lentil soup and the small lamb shish kebob without the stick wrapped in pita bread and some vegetables. All very tasty.
Very fancy, this place seems to have been set down from somewhere else. It is surprising to see such a fancy restaurant tucked into downtown Paterson. Typical steak hose fare, atmosphere is wonderful. It feels like you are entering onto a secret subterranean world, almost like a winery somewhere in Napa. The food is delicious if somewhat pricey.
