Nasty disgusting food. The collard greens taste so bad like they drowned it in liquid smoke, sugar and vinegar to mask the Glory greens taste. They were inedible. Now the ribs no smoke ring and they were clearly baked then thrown on a grill drenched in lighter fluid to have a grill line. The brisket was so fatty no flavor, no smoke ring and the guy drowned the meat in bbq sauce to hide the abomination. The yams were total crap, they were just boiled not candied at all. The Mac and cheese were bland. The fish was trash the breading was complete garbage. No flavor. The only plus is they give a lot of food. Which ended up in the trash.

I was craving barbecue and found this place on Google. I thought, why not give it a try? My mother and I showed up and saw the grill outside. We were expecting the food to taste homemade. I ordered the brisket with collard greens and mac and cheese. They brought out our food in a carting pans, and they gave us a lot of it. My mother ordered the ribs with collard greens and yams. My brisket was dry and tough. It was supposed to be moist and tender, and the collard greens tasted vinegary and peppery. The mac and cheese did not taste homemade or have any seasoning in it. The barbecue sauce looked very watery, almost like oil you put in your car. My mother didn’t like the yams. It seemed they didn’t put any seasoning on it. They just peeled some sweet potatoes and boiled them. She didn’t like the sauce on her ribs or mac and cheese either. She said it tasted straight out of the box. This place disappointed our expectations. If you’re Looking for good barbecue, I would recommend some other place.

I really wanted to like this place but it was laughably bad. I want to say the staff was very nice and the service was great!
I ordered the ribs, yams, and Mac and cheese. The ribs had no seasoning and NO smoke flavor. The ribs weren’t trimmed before cooking so they were fatty and greasy and still had that tough membrane on the back. They looked and tasted as if they were precooked in an oven or boiled as there was no bark on the meat. The bbq sauce that was served with it was absolutely disgusting. It was runny/watery and looked like used motor oil. The taste was very weird, unlike any sauce I’ve had before. I don’t even know how to describe it. The greens were out of a can and had way too much vinegar, black pepper, and sugar. The Mac and cheese was box mix that had been doctored up by adding some grated cheese on top and baking it.
My son had the brisket and it was brown and gray in color. There was no bark on that so I’m guessing it too was precooked in an oven or boiled. I didn’t taste it be he told me it was under seasoned, tough, and had no smoke flavor.
The portions were so big that the food was served in 9x13 pan. The prices were reasonable. But the taste was sooo bad. I don’t see how someone can run a bbq restaurant with canned and boxed food products and not fully cook their meats in a smoker. We definitely won’t be back.

Back Alley does barbeque right! I've had the pulled pork, brisket and pulled chicken and all work delicious. And the pound cake is the best I have ever tasted. I highly recommend you stop in.

Didn’t even have the opportunity to order the food as their website adds $12 fees onto everything you order. Instead, I called, and in person they charged you 25 extra dollars. Seems like a rip off to me. What a shame-we’ve never tried it before.
My new job. The owner is Great guy. Dr. Ron Food portions are awesome. You definitely get your money's worth!
I stop in for the first time one on my way home, and ordered the fried fish platter it was very good and very generous portions, the macaroni cheese was very good the greens were okay taste like can. I did get the banana pudding which was just pudding with few cookies. I think there platters are a little to pricey. Overall a nice place.

They've got some nerve calling this "barbecue." There was not a hint of smoke in the brisket or pulled pork. A local confirmed that the meats are braised in the kitchen. There's a big-ass pile of wood and a huge smoker right out front. Beans were straight from a can. Greens had a little vinegar, but no smoked meats. Nice people, and reasonable prices, but this is NOT BBQ.

Accidentally came in about a year ago. Since then, I fiend this place!!! The best ribs around. I keep wanting to try the brisket. But you have to order it a day in advance.
