I'm not from around and my car broke down and I ended up in their parking lot. When I first went inside to ask for the address so roadside assistance could find me the bartender immediately got me a glass of water and gave me the address. I thought to myself that was very nice of him. After the first person was here and we established it wasn't the battery I had to sit and wait for a tow so I went back in. I needed to charge my phone which they let me do and I need something to eat. He suggested the prime rib sandwich which was absolutely phenomenal!! Not only was the sandwich phenomenal, the two bartenders were phenomenal! They made a crappy situation for me not so crappy and I absolutely appreciated it. Thank you! I'll definitely make my way back up here.

Wow! How impressively unpleasant. I'm a retired chef of 45 years who finished my career as a chef instructor at The Culinary Institute of Virginia. I know a thing or two about restaurants. My family had been going to The Pub for years, loved The Pub. This is not The Pub of our youth. The food was BAD, and the service was laughingly inadequate. When my sister complained to the manager about the quality of her meal, he got surly. The servers attitude when my wife complained was, "Oh well, what do you want me to do?" I guess they're resigned to it. They must get many complaints. They tout their Salad Bar, which used to be epic. Now, it's a whimpering shadow of its former self. Every obscenely overpriced entree was either undercooked or overcooked. Steaks were burned beyond recognition, and if you listened closely to the Prime Rib, you could still hear it Moo. Both were ordered medium. Service was spectacularly bad, just really, really horrible, but if your group is more than six, they charge an automatic 18% gratuity, non-negotiable. I mentioned the surly manager, right? So there's no drawback for them providing poor service. All I can figure are the good reviews are people who were just lucky, overcome with nostalgia, or friends and family members of the owners and staff. I'd strongly recommend avoiding The Pub unless you are looking for a highly reliable disappointment.

My wife and I went to the Pub for our anniversary last night. We are going to make a tradition out of it. We absolutely loved it. Food and drinks were incredible and we couldn’t get enough of the salad bar. Staff made us feel very welcomed. Highly recommend! Ask for Daniel S (as in steak). He’s the man and did a great job

The Pub is NOT at all what it used to be when it comes to food quality. They really went downhill. I ordered the Burgundy Street Sirloin medium well. They poured a wine marinade over a dried out tough steak. It was so dried out that when I cut it up into little pieces to take home to make a pepper steak the next day, all the juices were soaked up in the steak like a sponge leaving the plate dry. And the server put a lot of the marinade on my steak. The reason for not eating my steak that night was I felt sick to my stomach from the rotten cottage cheese they served at the salad bar. I got sick when I went home and my wife didn’t even finish her meal either and chucked her leftovers. Not a good experience. My dad said the last 2 times he got a steak from the pub, both were tough and he’s not really a picky eater and ordered a Cattleman’s Cut Prime Rib Medium the first time, and a filet mignon Medium the second time. How the hell is a filet cooked medium tough? For the money, I’d rather eat at The Franklinville Inn.

The Pub has been a staple in my family for the last 20 years. Expected a remodel after their closure but everything looked the same. Only difference i noticed was the steak didn't come out charred like it always used to, liked the seer on the steaks much better than in the past. Drinks are always top notch!

I've been going to The Pub with family and friends since I was a child going 30 years. Last night (Thursday December 12 2024) something was very off with the service. Seated at 7 but did not eat until 9 and it seemed there was a large table of guests that seemed to monopolize everything and the staff all looked worried and stretched. The meals came out medium to medium well for a medium rare order and the shrimp cocktail was never made. It seemed like our dinners were behind a very long queue line. I never saw a manager or owner walking the floor to ask how I was or how the service was cause I'd mention how something was off. I'm putting blame on owners and managers not being there, not supporting their wait and bar staff last night like they usually do with the price and reputation The Pub usually has.

Finally got here after growing up in the area and then moving back 18 years ago. There is something about the atmosphere that sparks a nostalgic feeling. I feel like you come here for the most casual family night out for dinner or a more special occasion. Steaks were solid and cooked as ordered.

This was our 1st time here, although out of our party of 12, several had been coming for decades. We were anticipating an excellent experience. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

We did have a reservation for 4:30 pm and were greeted promptly. The restaurant was empty, with maybe 3 tables occupied.

The restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays, which made for a pleasant ambiance.

We were seated in the bar area. Now normally that wouldn't have been a problem, but we had 2 people with walkers and another needed assistance. We also had 2 USMC combat veterans with PTSD. The stress of the situation caused a flare-up. Fun times. 😔 Not!

Why put us on a different level than the salad bar? Where we had to walk to the ramp, down the ramp and another 20-30 steps to the salad bar. And then back again to the table. Ridiculous!

We asked to be moved and were told we couldn't be relocated.

Then one of our group sought out the boss, told her they had been coming here for 58 years and another in our party for 25 years. Never have they had an issue before. Especially in a pretty empty restaurant. Also none of us would return. We would be writing reviews. And, of course, word of mouth.

Well, voila! We were moved to the lower level at a round table that accommodated our party of 12 comfortably. It took about 40 minutes from the moment we arrived until we were seated at a table we should've been seated at to begin with, right in front of the salad bar.

The salad bar was wonderful. A large selection. Everything was very fresh. I could've made my entire dinner with just that!

We ordered our dinners. Most were good. We both ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs with stuffed potatoes. Ours was very overcooked. Tough. Very tough. What a disappointment.

Our server was gracious and offered to have our dinners remade or we could order something else. My husband really wanted the ribs so he reordered. I didn't want to take the chance so I ordered a steak.

By the time our meals came, everyone else was finished. And, to be perfectly honest, we weren't hungry anymore, as we filled up on bread while we were waiting. So we ate a few bites and took the rest home. The replaced meals were quite good. The ribs were perfect, falling of the bone, this time. My steak was cooked exactly to my liking and was quite good.

None of us wanted coffee and dessert. Unfortunately there was a problem with their credit card processor, so we had to wait quite a while to finalize our check.

Most of us traveled an hour or more for a less than stellar experience. I doubt any of us will return again.
