Sunda Kitchen NJ is a true gem! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances modern charm with cozy comfort.
The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. We tried Tahu Goreng,Nasi Biru ,Bagado ,Bakso Cuankhi , and every bite was packed with authentic Indonesian flavors and fresh ingredients. The presentation was stunning, and you can tell the chefs take pride in their craft.
The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our server went above and beyond to make recommendations and ensure our dining experience was flawless.
The ambiance, combined with the excellent food and service, makes Sunda Kitchen NJ a must-visit spot. Whether you're planning a casual lunch or a special dinner, this place delivers on all fronts.

I had seen the restaurant a few times in passing but finally stopped in today to get something. It did not disappoint! I kept it very simple I ordered a chicken pad Thai.. AMAZING! Needed a tad more spice for my liking but the flavors were so good. I also got a mango sticky rice that I’d been craving for a while and it was very pleasant not overly sweet at all. My son ordered a Mango milk tea with boba which was very refreshing! I walked in and was greeted with a lovely smile from the chef and the person who helped us was so nice, very welcoming, and made the process of ordering to go very easy. I did not eat in the restaurant but it had very nice decor and was very clean. I got to my car and finished my pad Thai before I reached home if that doesn’t tell you how good the food was. I recommend this restaurant for sure 10/10!

This family-run restaurant is a hidden gem where the grown-up kids are part of the friendly and efficient staff. The place is spotless, well-organized, and perfect for gatherings. We came early for a lunch gathering with friends (a group of 9) and ordered a variety of dishes to share. The wait time for our food was about 20-25 minutes, but everything was worth it—freshly made, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.
We enjoyed an array of dishes, including Tahu Isi, Combro, Batagor, Kupat Tahu, Nasi Liwet Komplit, Siomay Bandung, Roti Canai, Mie Bakso Komplit, and Es Campur. Each dish was a delight! The staff were not only accommodating but also warm and welcoming to our kids, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend visiting this place and placing your order in advance to avoid any wait times.

Out of curiosity we decided to stop in and try....the space is nice... but the portions are unexpectedly small....the items are overpriced for the small portion and the food takes a while to be prepared
I had a very disappointing experience today. After arriving with a group of 3 and being seated, we waited for over an hour without receiving any food or drinks—not even a glass of water. What made it even more frustrating was that a group who arrived 15 minutes after us was served their order before we even got a single item. We asked about our order multiple times, but there was no update or apology from the staff. After waiting for more than an hour with no sign of our food or drink, we decided to leave. Very poor service.

I work in town and just happened to drive past this restaurant the past couple of days. While perth amboy is known for its latin cuisine, there is not much for asian food other than your run of the mill chinese takeout spots When I saw South East Asian I was intriguied. Decided to try with the family the other night and was pleasantly surprised. They are still in the process of a soft opening, so be paitient if you go. The food was not only different, but VERY good. The staff was friendly and inviting and gave us some great suggestions to try for the first time. All the food was made fresh and very tasty. I look forward to returning again to try some other items on the menu. I can't say anything about its authenticity as there are no other Indonesian restaurants around really to compare to. They even have some Thai dishes that were just as good as any I have had from my favorite Thai spots. To top it all off it is in one of the historic buildings in Perth Amboy. Amazing terracotta work outside, Original Bar and Tin Ceilings inside! I wish them the best of luck, as this town needs more stuff like this!
