We started with steamers, and they were perfect. My flounder sandwich was very tasty. My boyfriend had the barge, which the stuffing was very flavorful. Can't wait to go back again soon.

White linen tablecloths. Classy feel though relaxed at lunch. Treated my mom to her fave place. Prices are very reasonable for seafood, great view and great quantity. Loved it! Walked after along water front, view of NY. Delightful experience.

All the food is bland, no seasoning at all! We had the French onion soup which not good. Oysters Rockefeller was horrible. Reuben was decent.Waiter was friendly. Location is convenient to waterfront.

The food is great. All of the staff work hard to make you happy and satisfied. Very pleasant home-like atmosphere whether you are dining in or carrying out.
It's been a while since we visited this restaurant and we were not disappointed in their lobster dinner last night! It was the best! Lobster was cooked just right and the stuffing was excellent PLUS all the other stuff that came with the Shore Dinner!

I wish I could give it zero stars. Worst meal I have had in years. The lobster bisque was Campbell's cream of chicken soup. Salad was a plate of iceberg lettuce with nothing else. My seafood was raw and slimy. Rice was uncle Ben's. Vegetables were frozen mush. Absolutely disgusting. Stay away.

The history of The Barge is enough reason alone to give it five stars. My grandparents and parents were born and raised in Perth Amboy, my grandparents owned a home on Water Street #214 just around the corner from The Barge. We went to The Barge many times while my grandparents were still alive. My grandfather, John Swallick, was the Chief of Police in Perth Amboy from 1954 until his death in 1963. I took my wife to The Barge on many occasions while visiting my grandmother at her home on Water Street until her death in 1995. The Barge always delivered good food and a great time. I'm looking forward to my next visit soon. I know a lot of businesses suffered during the pandemic. It's nice to see that The Barge remains a mainstay in the Perth Amboy area. It deserves a try!
