We went there with my mom, who isn’t vegan, and we all loved it (so much so that we didn’t take many pictures)!! The highlights for me were the Sweet & Sour “Chicken” because I feel like it’s not offered very often - & it was sooo good - and the Thai Iced Tea with oat milk b/c it was yum-azing too!!! 🤤

Thai Basil Restaurant is a great spot for vegan food lovers. The restaurant allows you to customize the spice level, ensuring the perfect balance of flavors for your taste. The food is delicious, offering authentic Thai flavors with fresh ingredients. The serene ambiance enhances the dining experience, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal.
I like their Pineapple Fried Rice, which is packed with fragrant jasmine rice, juicy pineapple, crunchy cashews, and fresh veggies. It’s a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, making it an excellent choice for a flavorful vegan meal.

Menu is mostly vegan. We tried the roti, general tso, sweet & sour "chicken," and Thai iced tea (w/ oat milk). Everything was very good. The roti especially was phenomenal. The "chicken" was crispy on the outside and the sauces were very flavorful.

Thai Basil offers a delightful culinary journey through Thailand. We recently enjoyed a delicious meal, savoring the drunken noodles, basil fried rice, Thai ice coffee, and dumplings.

The drunken noodles were packed with flavor, the basil fried rice was fragrant and satisfying, and the Thai ice coffee was the perfect refreshing beverage. The dumplings were a delightful appetizer, with a delicate balance of flavors.

The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.

If you're craving authentic Thai cuisine, Thai Basil is definitely worth a visit.

Wow! I am soooo happy there is a fully vegan/vegetarian Thai restaurant. It’s a bit far for me (I’m in south jersey) but love that there are options!!! We tried it and the food the amazing. I love that I could eat peacefully without having to worry about the ingredients. And guess what! The pad thai has vegetables!!!!!!!! Green curry was yum! And the pineapple fried rice was also yummmmmm. I only wish there was no raisins in it but next time will for it without. Will definitely be back.

Green: full of flavour and was very good
Pad Thai asked for less sweet and medium spicy was very good
Pineapple fried rice also had a lot of flavour!
Tomyum soup was good too! Tangy and spicy and warm perfect for winter!

After going vegan, I always craved the flavors of asian cuisine especially Thai food. This place is on point on taste & flavor. Order the curry puffs, roti, fried oyster mushroom (taste like fried chikn), yellow curry, eggplant basil, pepper "steak", sweet & sour chkn. Cant wat to try all the items in the menu.

So many options! We got the country pad thai, curry puffs, and roti. All were delicious! Hidden gem! Relatively affordable as well

We’ve had takeout and have also dined in multiple times and it’s delicious! Pad See You and Green Curry are favorites, but we’ve liked everything else we’ve tried too, such as the soups, salads, and a few of the main dishes too. You won’t go wrong with anything you order on their menu.

Update: I liked adding tofu and extra veggies to Pad See You. It was SO delicious. I finished just about the entire container in one sitting. I’m still thinking about how good it was.

PROs- very good taste , very good pricing
CONs- location , no meat restaurant, ambience

We went to Rutgers and was looking for a good restaurant and came across this restaurant.. had good google reviews and wanted to try it . Location wise it was ok. Lots of parking outside . Few other shops nearby . Service was good . Just that the whole restaurant was a bit cramped . Not much of space and ambience was average .

Good was very good though. It’s an only veg restaurant! No chicken , no meat . !! We were 8 and ordered many stuff .. overall quality of the food was good. Thai fried rice , drunken noodle , pad thai ,… etc was very good .. they charge 0.5 cents for hot sauce which was a bit wierd ! Never seen any restaurants charging money for a sauce … kids liked the food though. Wanted to give 3.5 stars but gave it a 4 ! Good experience overall.
