Seeking an impromptu dinner option, we decided to visit the main street area of Point Pleasant. Upon arriving early on a Saturday evening, it became apparent that nearby establishments required advance reservations, with limited availability remaining later in the evening. Consequently, we visited Cafe D’Angelo. Seven gentlemen from the area decided to celebrate their friendship and chose Casa D'Angelo based on recommendations. Being a BYOB served our gathering well. Upon entering I recognized the chef/owner immediately as an owner of a long time popular restaurant that I frequented frequently until he sold it. It was a surprise encounter for both of us and a mandate to return.
Exceptional meal. Our waiter Vincent is the best, always personable, welcoming and amazing service. The owner, Mike, is a gracious host. One of our favorites.

Casa D'Angelo is a classic Italian restaurant with a pleasant and nice environment, though some find the lighting a bit too bright. The staff is consistently attentive, friendly, accommodating, and professional without hovering. Service is efficient and excellent, with specific waiters receiving high praise for being a main reason for return visits. The restaurant is BYOB, and they accommodate this well.
The food is outstanding, delicious, and great, with fresh ingredients. Dishes are cooked to perfection. Specific praised items include the sole with clams and mussels in a fish broth, described as perfect with a heavenly broth, the veal parmigiana, the eggplant parmesan, linguine with white clam sauce filled with clams, and stuffed mushrooms. Desserts like ricotta cheesecake and lemon cello cake are homemade and delicious. Bread is freshly made and served with seasoned oil.
Portions are very nice and generous. However, some note that entrees like the veal parmigiana and pork chop do not include pasta or vegetables, which are treated as a side for an extra charge, and considering the above-average pricing, this was a disappointment for some. Overall, most experiences are wonderful, leading to definite plans to return.
