Stumbled into this spot at the Jersey Shore and the homesick-for-real-Mexican-food cravings got handled immediately. 🌮🔥

The chilaquiles verdes with chicken? Smothered in salsa verde, topped with queso, crema, and onion—exactly how they’re supposed to be. No shortcuts. Took me right back to the mercados.

But the move here is the al pastor tacos. That char, the pineapple, a fat scoop of guac on a fresh tortilla—this is what I fly...

I recently visited Doña Julia and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy, authentic feel that makes you feel right at home. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Amazing experience from start to finish.

Partner and I ordered the Pollo Torta and Chorizo Torta, respectively. Partner enjoyed Pollo thoroughly. The fries were nice and crispy. My chorizo needed more seasoning, the ancho chili pepper was undetectable and any other seasoning was muted. Everything else, the roll and veggies, were quite good and fresh tasting. Chips and salsa are not complimentary like many other restaurants, but for $5 the chips and salsa offered were of decent serving and tasty.
