Was there this past Easter and it was far from a great experience. Reservations but still waited due to lack of silverware. Do better.

We were at their Easter lunch buffet. We used to go to their buffets at Easter and Thanksgiving, and were always very pleased. This was our first time back in several years. (COVID intervened.) I was disappointed. The food is as good, with a notable exception, but not as much variety. (The food exception was their cakes and pies; kind of dry and less flavor than it used to be, and only about half the choices.) The service was as pleasant as ever, though again a bit less quality than before; unlike past buffets there, the kitchen is closed so we could not special order for one of the kids. As for the atmosphere, there were more tables, more people, more crowded. And the price is a lot higher.

We had a great time celebrating my sister in law's 40th birthday. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was awesome. Service was pretty good. Could have been a little more attentive with a table of 15 people.

Our party had a wonderful meal last night in an almost-empty restaurant DESPITE a waitress who clearly had no basic skillset & no common sense about what her job involved - she had no idea what balsamic dressing was, we had to ask for bread & were told with a laugh that she 'forgot'; we had to ask for the cole slaw even though the menu included it with the entrees'. To our pretending-to-be-busy server: You know who you are, & you are "clueless on Channel Drive" for sure. This is definitely not the job for you, especially when the hungry summer crowds show up.

The Scallops were much better at the Wharfside next door.

Like Ms Karr we also spent Christmas Eve at Lobster Shanty, something we've been doing for many years, as well as rehearsal dinners, a Wedding reception, and many, many family dinners over the many years we've lived in Point Beach. This was the worst experience and it ruined our entire Christmas Eve, something we have always looked forward to as a family. Our table of nine ordered dinners, we got there for our 7.30 reservation, and did not eat until 9.30 or so. We were the last table to leave. The meals were awful, and no one gave us water or rolls . We had to go to the bar to get water! Unfortunately, unlike Ms Karr's bill, our bill was only comped between 10 and 20 percent. So very disappointed.

SO DISAPPOINTED! The food was cold and took 2 hours to be served, and the service was the worst we've ever had anywhere. We've eaten here for Christmas Eve the last 20 years or so. We arrived tonight expecting the delicious food and excellent service the Lobster Shanty is known for. When I made our 7:00 reservation over a month ago, I was not told that tonight would mainly be a buffet dinner. We checked out the buffet, and most of our party decided to order from the menu. The waitress finally showed up at the table and we ordered drinks (sodas and a bottle of wine). Those took over half an hour. Our lobster bisques were all cold, even mine, which I had from the buffet. Our salads took an hour to get to the table, and our entrees didn't come until we had been seated for 2 hours! Yes, the restaurant was crowded, but that timing was inexcusable. After complaining to the manager, our meal was comped but our Christmas Eve dinner was ruined. I don't know if we'll ever go back, which is a shame- this was our go to celebration place.

Went for Thanksgiving buffet. The food was great and the wait staff were wonderful. Probably gonna go again next year.

Took some friends here for the twilight dinner last night and we all had a wonderful meal. The atmosphere, looking out at the water from the many windows they have in the dining room, was lovely. The twilight dinner has a nice variety, and all four of us ordered something different. We were all pleased with what we got. We will definitely be going back again.

A wonderful experience! My mom and boyfriend both got the King Crab and ate every last bit. I ordered the filet mignon which was charred and cooked to perfection! Linda was our server and she was amazing from start to end! She was very warm and courteous in her service and even came across the large parking lot to find us to bring us the leftovers we had forgotten on the table! We will definitely be back for the food and for Linda! We also got to see a rather large raccoon whom must have gotten lost and winded up on the back platform towards the water. What a treat!

I’m visiting from the UK and wanted to take my family somewhere special and this place had good reviews.Firstly, the person on reception was very snooty and rude. The restaurant was only a quarter full and we were told to wait as we hadn’t made a reservation and they needed to check whether there was a table. After a while we were shown to our table. The service was average. We kept being rushed to order and I felt we didn’t have enough time to make our choices. The menu is very limited. We ordered our starters which came were either luke warm or red hot. Very disappointing. Even before we had finished our starters our main courses were being brought to the table. Again we felt rushed. All the main courses which ranged from King crab, tuna steaks and lobster was dry and very bland to the taste. For a seafood restaurant on the shore, the quality of the fish and lobster should have been so much better. The only pleasant item was the Malbec wine we ordered with the main course. For the quality of the food and average service the bill was very high.Overall a truly bad experience and no doubt IF I get a response it will be a cut and paste reply from other poor reviews.
