The Poached Pear

My family had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice, a little noisy when busy but nothing too bad. The wait staff were very courteous and quick. We got their brined pork chop, their new York strip steak, halibut and spatzle dish. They were all phenomenal. The pork chop was falling off the bone to perfection, the mashed potatoes are seasoned and pureed very well. The halibut was very flavorful and the spatzle dish was also impressive. My dish was the new York strip which was cooked perfectly - medium rare, the sauce it came with complemented it very well and the vegetables were also seasoned and cooked impeccably. The only down side is we are not local to this restaurant so we cannot come here on a frequent basis. Otherwise we would!

The best food on the island! Beautiful small byob place with phenomenal service and an incredible menu. It's pricey but worth it. Plan ahead since this place books far in advance.

Poached Pear is an Ocean county gem. Chef Scott is world class and creative. We have been going there for 10 years, just shortly after they opened. Book in advance, they are very popular.

Always a great meal at the Poached Pear. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and the serving size was perfect.

It's fine. The halibut was tasty but over, the dessert was a misfire, and the risotto was under.

We celebrated a birthday and the service and food was outstanding. We highly recommend this place for an occasion.

We had a wonderful time at the poached pear. Friendly and attentive staff, great selection of food made with great attention to preparation and presentation. Fantastic crab cakes and scallops. Cappuccino and flourless chocolate cake hit the spot. Already planning our next visit.

Poached Pear is consistently a superb dining experience. Food is delicious, plentiful, and creatively prepared. Also, the professional and friendly servers always add to a perfect evening.

We celebrated our anniversary here and everything was delicious. Started with the shrimp appetizer, followed by crab cakes and rack of lamb entrees and ended with a warm chocolate chip lava cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert . The service was excellent and they even put a sparkler in our dessert which was a very nice touch!

The menu and specials gave us a wide variety of appealing options to choose from - for all 3 courses. We absolutely loved everything we ordered and are eager to go back and try some different dishes. Service was great too!

My fiancé took me out on a surprise date to this amazing restaurant, and it was absolutely perfect! The chicken was so tender it melted in your mouth, and the pork was incredibly flavorful and juicy. The ambiance was rich and cozy—just right for a romantic evening. We ended the night with the perfect dessert, which was the cherry on top. After dinner, we enjoyed a lovely walk around Point Pleasant. Restaurant has a parking lot which was a plus!

The Poached Pear always delivers! This is our favorite restaurant in town. We ate their last weekend and from appetizers through dessert, each course was outstanding. And the service was their usual top notch level! If you are looking for a delicious meal and great atmosphere, you need to check out the Poached Pear. You will not be disappointed!
