While some of the food was quite tasty the noise level was off the charts. You could barely hear the server telling you about specials and if you were hoping to have a conversation with the party you are with good luck. It seemed at certain tables people were speaking at a level 10 because they could not hear above the noise so they spoke even louder themselves. We left feeling we would not go back. I have never had a bad or even OK meal at the Poached Pear. All of them have been excellent and I've been there many times. Our server was very attentive made very good recommendations. She knew her menu very well and was able to describe the dishes we asked about. I had the bread duck with a sweet potato cannelloni, which was out of this world. 6 of us were celebrating anniversaries and this restaurant was an excellent choice. Food and service were outstanding. Still noisy even with sound absorbers.
