I wanted to love this place. I wanted the wow factor. We've been to many steak houses but I just did not get it on our visit. Service was very attentive and friendly (perhaps slightly overly so as I felt myself having to chew and swallow a few times to be able to respond to 3 different levels of service inquiring how everything was). Possibly the smallest old fashioned I've ever seen, although delicious. I was so looking forward to lobster bisque-it was OK but perhaps not quite hot enough (nor was my guests calamari). The Wellington was well done on the outer part of the meat-they happily took it back and replaced with a new properly cooked piece and offered a side or salad for me while I waited. The ambiance is beautiful even in the bar area with the holiday decor. I wasn't even going to write a review until I noticed many mentioning a surprise dessert for an occasion they were celebrating. We were never offered this, even though 3 different people asked if we were here for a special reason. Not sure at this point if we would return.

We met here for a team dinner after finishing an important project, and the whole experience felt like a reward in itself. The table was filled with colorful drinks, rich starters, and delicious main dishes. I ordered the Roots Tailors Plate, and it was honestly outstanding. The staff handled everything with warm attention and made the evening smooth and relaxing. Highly recommend!

Atmosphere was nice, server didn't come by that often, steak was ok, but luke warm and a little grisly. Also I ordered the 12 ounce strip and another person in our party ordered the 16 ounce. My steak was much larger so seems like the server bringing the food out didn't know which plate went to which person. Pretty sure it always mixed up. Hostess was very pleasant and professional.

Overall, an amazing experience. The hosts we're incredibly knowledgeable about the area and very welcoming. They were excited to learn it was our first time, and took us on a tour around the restaurant, highlighting the place's history. The dining room ambience was lively but private. For a Monday, there was a buzz about the place!
Our meal was fantastic. Slab bacon app was tasty. Had a char with with sweet glaze and we devoured it. Blood orange OF was great, girlfriend enjoyed the funny apple. Sweet and tart, could barely taste the alcohol.we both ordered the NY strip and the temps were spot on, again with a char that was just perfect. Our server, Bruno, was super accommodating and always seemed to show up when we needed him to. His service was among the best weve received, ever.
Overall, a solid 9.5/10 experience. From the entry to the exit, the staff seemed intent on making us repeat customers and we'll be happy to oblige.

Our lunch at Roots Ocean Prime was a memorable event. We were celebrating a birthday and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere and service were impeccable. The food was above and beyond our expectations. We had onion soup, lobster bisque, lobster bites, calamari, filet mignon, asparagus, brussel sprouts, french fries, cheddar burger and sirloin burger. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. The birthday girl was even honored with a huge shareable sundae which we all enjoyed. What a nice gesture. Thank you, Roots Ocean Prime for a wonderful experience!

Bruno, who served as our event coordinator that evening demonstrated incredible professionalism and attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of the night ran seamlessly.
From start of the evening, Bruno was skilled in organizing his team during setup and showed great flexibility with our seating layout, allowing us to incorporate a projector and screen effortlessly.
Where he truly excelled was in his communication and responsiveness throughout the event. He kept me informed about the timing of the food and beverage service, which allowed us to coordinate speeches without interruptions. He was also quick to adjust the temperature, lighting and music volume as the evening went on, ensuring our guests were comfortable and the atmosphere stayed just right.
Our team and guests had a wonderful night - many remarked that their steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was top-tier.
If you are considering an event at Roots, the food, and service - especially Bruno's thoughtful coordination - exceeded all expectations.

Celebrated my birthday here with some friends and it was a great experience. The server was extremely nice and was able to bring a free (humongous) dessert for the special occasion. Their fresh baked bread, although it looked a tad deformed, was excellent. We loved their calamari, cowboy steak, and especially their lobster Mac and cheese. Roots is 100% a great place to celebrate something special.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area - the steak and sides are great - classier spot and great fine dining

One of the best steaks I have ever had in my life. I got the Prime Ribeye and it was perfectly cooked and the sides we got as well were spectacular. This place does it right, the dark feel to the room but still bight enough to enjoy your food and company.
