Freakin Vegan elevates mac and cheese with their textured pork and tangy BBQ sauce but forgets the most important part. That topping is delicious, but the mac and cheese is less cheese and more of a thinly coated macaroni. I found myself wanting more of a gooey, saucy yellow cheese, mixing and swirling with the tangy BBQ. This Mac is great, but with the addition of a cheese sauce, this Mac could elevate even higher.

I feel very blessed to live near a place like this! Their comfort food is top tier, especially the BBQ Pulled Porkless Mac & Cheese and the Buffalo Sliders. The portions are very filling and authentic.

Great vegan option for anyone craving a plant-based sub or more. Their empanadas are definitely not authentic but still decent; my personal favorite is their chickpea tuna sandwich or “chicken” cutlet.

Freakin’ Vegan is freakin’ awesome! We love the wide selection of comfort food items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (They have a Thanksgiving menu too.) We’ve had the burgers, mac n’ cheese, subs, chickpea toona, empanadas, chili - all delicious! Kurt and company are super nice people and do great work helping Halfway Home Animal Rescue. So thankful for this place.

This was horrible. The service was fine, it's the food. I had a Mac and cheese, and he did everything in a microwave and to sum it, he put SPOONFULS of oil. When I tried it, you could FEEL the excess of oil it had. You could literally taste the raw oil in your mouth. I only took a few bites and threw it away. Now, my mom tried a mashed potatoes with chicken and onions with gravy. First of all, the mashed potatoes. Me, ME who barely cooks can do a waaaayyy better job at it. The chicken was the only thing edible. The stench it had! It smelled like rotten oil, or something, I couldn't describe how horrible that smelled. If you guys want your business to be successful, you better start cooking EDIBLE food for humans, NOT animals. Not even animals would be able to eat it! And this is coming from two experienced vegan people.

First of all, I am not a vegetarian, although I appreciate the dedication of those who are. That being said, I don't just judge this place based upon that they are vegetarian. I've been to quite a few veggie places, some of which were modestly "eh". Having said that, this place was really good. It's purely take out as it's a small place, though the counter area is amazingly clean and inviting. I ordered a chicken parm which was phenomenal. I would put this above most any chicken sandwiches I've ever had, veggie or not. You can tell the ingredients and preparation are of high quality. And it was a good portion too. I spoke to the owner, Kurt, who was quite the gentleman and runs a great small operation. This place is a gem. I would recommend Freakin Vegan to both vegans and carnivores alike.
Huge fan of everything I have had here. I have been a fan since before they even had a real store front. The growth of the menu has been amazing. I am addicted to the "knuckle" sandwich. So many things on the menu, but I can't fight the urge to just get the same thing. I have had many of the sides. Onion rings are amazing, Mac and cheese and the many variations, the pulled pork being my favorite, also amazing.

This place is phenomenal. I made a 40 minute drive just to get my hands on their buffalo mac and cheese. There is truly nothing like it in all of New Jersey and New York. This is a great place for any vegans or vegetarians, or for people who just want to try something new and flavorful in their diet. Also, their staff is so friendly which just complements everything.
