I ordered from Modern Roots for my daughter’s bridal shower yesterday. I opted to order and have the food delivered, and serve myself. Everything was AMAZING!! The food was delicious, and beautifully prepared and wrapped. My guests were extremely impressed, and delighted with the unique options and presentation. Everyone asked where I got the food from as they were enjoying it so much! I highly recommend Modern Roots!

The food is always delicious, but what really sets Modern Roots apart is that you’ll never see a table setup quite like theirs; elegant, creative, and perfectly executed.

Communication is seamless, the team is always available and open to adjustments. The staff arrives on time (actually early), incredibly professional, and genuinely seem to love who they work for and what they do, which speaks volumes. And the clean-up is great!

They arrive, set up beautifully and carefully, and clean up after. Our guests raved about the presentation and the flavors. To say we were impressed is an understatement. We’ve hosted 4 other catered parties and none of them even came close to Modern Roots. It’s a husband/wife team who clearly work hard and have put a lot of thought into the process, design and menu options. Kudos to Donna and Robert. Thank you for everything. In the days leading up to the event Donna and Robert were extremely helpful in helping me create the perfect menu for my event. Not only did they give me feedback on my selections, they even told me if I was ordering too much or something.

The food was spectacular. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and the presentation was beautiful. Every guest raved about the food, and there was something for everyone, whether they had dietary restrictions or specific preferences.

The servers did a wonderful job. They were attentive, courteous, and great about making sure all of the guests had the opportunity to try every passed hors d'oeuvre. They even cleaned up while the event was going on so there were no random napkins or skewers laying around my backyard.

Modern Roots catered my father's repast. We decided to not take Donna's advice and do the "Drop Off Catering" but instead chose to go with the "Grazing Table Finger Foods." We wanted to have my father's send off be memorable and this was the way to do it! The food was delectable and inventive and of course the presentation was spectacular. The website design was a bit convoluted to navigate and there were a lot of extra charges that are not apparent on the face, but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for extravagance in both taste and display this is the place to dazzle your event.

Wow! Modern Roots was absolutely amazing! The decor was beautiful! The food was delicious!(and that’s coming from a foodie who cooks.) and I was incredibly impressed by the quantity of food they provided. I am so grateful that I found them and will defiantly use them again.

I had Modern Roots cater my daughters bridal shower luncheon on Sunday April 2nd. The food was awesome! It was presented so beautifully! There Little Bite pass arounds were fabulous. Their food is definitely prepared with LOVE and what more can you ask for! They are one of the unique and finest caterers around. Donna was soooo easy to work with and so helpful! They are my new go to for any future events! They made the day extra special!

I used Modern Roots for a small dinner party. The food and portions were amazing! It was a hit! Loved the menu selection and unique choices. Would hire them again! The staff was also so responsive.

It's like this healthy stuff that looks good and actually tastes good too. Probably ideal to cater a lunch or dinner. I suspect more of the Subaru crowd but those who adequately bath are regulars. I drive one too but I only have 300k miles on it, and no, I haven't climbed a mountain, maybe I will, and pack some of this food. Oh, if you get overnight oats or the chia seed cup dump it into a bowl because the toppings will otherwise spill over. I would've used yogurt on the oats but they went with some type of cream.

We have been hosting parties for more than forty years- in Ridgewood and Mahwah NJ, as well as the Adirondacks. Modern roots is quite simply the finest caterer we have worked with— the most professional, most creative and perfectly prepared food; gorgeous presentation, and incredible relaxed teamwork in our kitchen- we thought we were watching the kitchen team at Le Bernardin!Food? Passed hors were watermelon radish tacos; pickled golden beet tartar; Asian chicken sliders; tuna tartar with avocado mousse on a wonton crisp; and beef short rib mini tacos! Wow! Each were beautiful and delicious. After that we had small plates- perfect roasted salmon; pumpkin and leek ravioli; fabulous beef tenderloin ( perhaps the most flavorful, tenderest I have ever had!If that isn’t enough, they are warm, friendly folks. Robert clearly loves his work— and it shows! In summation, whether hosting a party in your home, or having a wonderful catered meal at their Ramsey location, you will be treated to some of the best , most creative cuisine prepared with LOVE by a team that is unmatched! You will not be disappointed!
