I went there once with my wife and son after it opened, and the maître d made it a point to tell me that there would be nothing on the menu my son would like. When I said he'll be fine, he orders from regular menus, she refused to provide a table and repeated herself. This place is a block from my home, the food may be good, but I'll never bother finding out. I'd rather have the Spruce Street Grill or Seven Seas back.

This was my boyfriend and I's 5th time at Varka. We come here for all of our anniversary dinners because the food is so incredible and special. Everything was delicious! We cannot wait to come back again!

Appetizer of Greek dips along with Varka chips were excellent. Filet Mignon was fantastic & 3 others ordered Diver Scallops. All enjoyed their meal, however, the two men who ordered scallops, both noted they would have liked maybe another two scallops on their plate. Two almond cakes and one baklava for dessert. All desserts were oversized, excellent and shareable.

The restaurant is a hidden gem that I found only via open table. The service was very good , delicious complimentary bread, oil , olives and radish on the table while there was fresh fruit and treats at the check-in. The food was delicious especially the chilean sea bass soup. I had the shrimp and corn risotto. The shrimp were overcooked which i could see as soon as they landed on the table which meant the chef knew as did the waiter and neither took action. We were celebrating a milestone birthday which is the only reason I did not send them back. The staff also as a kind gesture didn't charge the birthday girl for her desert and a happy birthday song. Despite the over cooked shrimp it was a lovely meal and we had a great time . I would dine again and recommend to others

One of the best restaurants in the area. Food and service very good. Martini menu is extensive and fabulous! Expect to pay for what you get.

The food and service were outstanding. The oysters, grilled octopus and Bronzino were all extremely fresh the corn risotta was amazing.. Service was attentive and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone felt special for this holiday dinner.

Varka is renowned for it's fish. On our visit, it exceeded it's reputation for superbly prepared fish. Both my companion and I enjoyed the Tuna Aegean which was prepared to our specifications. The Arugula Salad is an excellent starter. The Galactabourico was a fine finish. Juan, our server, was accomodating, by patiently answering our menu questions and providing “Go Boxes” for us. We will be back!

Excellent professional gracious waiter- knowledgeable and was able to have mussels made from the lunch menu for dinner for my Mom. Overall food was fresh, appropriate size and beautifully presented.

I always find myself saying my last meal was the best one here lol. Well, it happened again. We had the calamari and fried cheeses for apps. The major hits were the swordfish kabobs and the scallops. The kabob dish was easily big enough for two and done to perfection. Amazing! Great service. Nice vibe. All good again

The food is consistently delicious, service is great. The noise level is way too loud to enjoy a conversation without yelling, which does take away from the overall experience.

What a lovely dining experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for great food and great vibes

Good food, service fairly good...after one relatively small cup of coffeee served, did not ask if wanted a second cup, cleaned up table as if, "okay, time to go"...good crusty bread, entrees were fine, i.e scampi, tuna...baklava not up to par from what expected in a Greek- based restaurant...prices probably 25% to 50% higher than what should have been, food was good, but definitely not overfed; however, overpriced...but celebrating 20 years there, so I guess other patrons okay with it, we were a "one & done."

We had a nice dinner at Varka. The food was good (we had steak and lobster, with the steak being a bit tough but the lobster quite good) and the staff was professional.

Food is good. Hostess and service is whatever. Definitely lacking in hospitality. Seating is also whatever. Tables for 2 off near the bar. Would I come back? Yes I guess but if I didn't I wouldn't mind either. Decor and layout very similar to Most Greek restaurants.
