This was our first time there and we were not disappointed. This was a birthday dinner for my husband and they had a card on the table that had 'Happy Birthday on it. The staff was friendly from the output - they were friendly, professional and provided excellent service. Our food was just as excellent - the steaks were cooked exactly as we asked. The sides were delicious, and the dessert was fabulous. They put a flaming candle in our dessert. An overall very pleasant experience and we will absolutely return.

Steaks were cold , like if it was sitting for a good amount of time. My ribeye was mostly all fat. Horrible cuts of meat .

Char is really expensive, but always delivers great food, from the bread service down to the dessert. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside and enjoy our shared ceasar salad, crab cake, steak and gratin de pommes. Always a sure thing!

Char never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent, the service is on point, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. Great spot for a solid dinner out. Highly recommend.

Food was great, as usual, but everything else was surprisingly poor. Service was very slow. Drinks took 25 minutes to arrive and our dinner took almost an hour to arrive. The waiter was apologetic and embarrassed. We would have stayed for dessert but we couldn't sit there any more. I think we're done with Char for now. For $400 for 4 people, the food and the service should be great..

Excellent experience! If you're looking for something special or just a casual night out Char has you covered. Our server, Brian, was dialed in to what we were looking for and everything he recommended was amazing! We tried a little bit of everything; it was all perfectly prepared and delicious! It would be tough to find anything negative, but if I had to the only thing was the parking, make sure you leave a few extra minutes to park and walk to the restaurant, but that's Red Bank.
