I always said the greatest sandwich in the world is a Pastrami with mustard on Rye from Katz’s deli in Manhattan. Elsie’s number 15 with the works on a pickle gives Katz a run for their money. 10/10 love everything about the place

Was walking down the street one day and noticed this little sub shop and knew I had to try it. I'm glad I did! There were about a half dozen people in line and everyone got their orders in no less than five minutes. I ordered a tuna sub and it was terrific. The quality and freshness of the ingredients really stood out. The staff is super friendly and inviting; they clearly take pride in their work and making sure the customers have a great experience. Will definitely be coming back!!!

We visited the Secret Stash down the street & asked about food recommendations in the area. We were told about Elsie's & walked over to try it out. Well, we found our favorite place to eat in NJ! ? The food was fresh & outstanding, the owner was amazingly patient, gracious & kind! It was everything we LOVE about small mom & pop businesses! Will absolutely be back! ???? Bring cash, or they have an ATM there. Pro-tip: get a side of "hot shot" to eat with the Turkey Cranberry! AH-MAZING! Flavorful & not too "spicy".

Went there the other day with my girlfriend and the owner was the nicest person ever, I tried their chicken parm and it was good but the main course was the pickle sandwich but I didn’t have it since I don’t like pickles but my girlfriend did and it was the best thing she ever had and got me smiling seeing a smile on her face, the atmosphere was nice and cozy and I can’t wait to go back in.

July 2024 It's a Saturday afternoon, just tired of the same old thing. Then someone says, "Let's go to Elsie's and get a pickle sandwich. We arrived, and you need to immediately know this place is very small. All but 1 table only seats 2 people. In the window, there is a table that seats 4. You can break out in a sweat sitting there. But it seams that the majority of their business is taken out. It's very clean, I don't think there was a restroom (could be wrong). This place is definitely on the expensive side. Look at the website for prices. Not handicap friendly, only street parking. There is no room for high chairs. The front door is something out of the 60s. The pickle sandwich is very good ! The rest was just average.

I got the chicken salad wrap and it was wonderful. Really hit the spot on a hot summer day. The owner is amazing and goes above and beyond for her customers. It was my first time there and I was short $1.50 (they only take cash). I asked to put my chips back but she kindly said “don’t worry about it, you gotta have chips with your sandwich”. I will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in the area!
