We were looking for a vegan restaurant to stop at about halfway through a drive from Bergen County to a shore point and found this place on Happy Cow. It did not disappoint! Food was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, and the portions were large. We ordered the mac & cheese with coconut bacon and the Reuben sandwich. Although we were full we ordered two desserts to go because they looked so delicious . We ate them later on at home and they were delicious as well! We got the slutty brownie and the chocolate chip cookie. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

I came in for a pick up order yesterday, after many years of not being in the area. I was very glad to see my favorite item (the seitan chimichuri sticks) were still on the menu. The entire staff was so warm and friendly, making the experience extremely positive. After checking out, I decided to also grab a lemon and lavender cupcake, which was fantastic. The only way I can describe the chimichuri sticks is “heavenly”. They were just as I had remembered, if not even better. I can’t wait to return again soon!!!

A perfect experience is easily tainted with rude patrons, screaming to communicate with table members. Not the restaurant's fault, but be warned as with any popular spot.
The food is incredible and portions are huge.
I should stress that the staff being so sweet is what kept us from leaving, and the food so incredible that although impossible to ignore the one table screaming (there were obvious periods of "inside voices" for comparison) it was a delicious experience. I've never added other patrons to a review but the table was That Bad.

This was the second visit to GKC. The first was quiet and perfect all around. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Verbally accosted by owner after asking for refund over poorly cooked Pad Thai. She felt the need to come out from the kitchen to threaten to call the police on us. She argued that no restaurants ever give refunds over food, and that it didn’t actually taste bad. Very bizarre interaction. Family has been eating here for years but will not be back after today.

I’ve been coming here for six years and it’s one of my favorite places. I’ve taken non-vegans here and they’ve loved it! Going to sincerely miss it when I’m not in the area anymore.

When I'm in northern Monmouth County, this is the place I go for a healthy dinner at the end of a day of hiking. In all my years of dining here, I have never had a disappointing experience, food & service is always terrific (even during Covid, they did a top-notch job). My favorites are the Kimchee Bowl (they make their own kimchee & Pad Thai. This Sunday, I enjoyed the Southwestern Seitan Bowl for the first time, delicious! And the desserts are seriously swoon-worthy. Try the chocolate raw pie, it's seriously the best vegan dessert i NJ (with the exception of organic strawberries fresh from the fields).

Parking: The parking lot at the park down the street has free parking on Sundays.
