I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food.
We ate here Sunday, 10/06 just before the finale of the N.J. Hispanic Film Fest conclusion at the The Vogel Theater.
The place is small, tight, but the food is good!
Food orders were chicken tacos (Tacos de Pollo) and chicken sopes (Sopes de Pollo). Both very good, filled with a lot of seasoned chicken.Tortillas are hand made.Salsa was good, as well as the side of Guacamole; more than enough for two people. Prices were fair. And the place is BYOB. I would recommend this for a quick, reasonably priced, authentic Mexican meal.
Bathroom was updated and fairly clean. Service was good!
This was our second time eating here.

One of many authentic Mexican restaurants in Red Bank , away from the limelight of Front and Broad Street where the prices you pay for your food is inflated just because of the location.
Experience truly authentic Mexican food where the locals visit and ignore the imitations of their culture at Surf Taco. LOL
This is the place to enjoy handmade thin flour tortillas and thin crispy chips and everything from Al Pastor to Lengua.

Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Made lovingly, even the locals know it's the best. We'll be back soon.

People of Red Bank, I hope you know how good you have it!Stopped by before our gig across the street and was surprised to encounter some of the best Mexican food I’ve had but HANDS DOWN the best I’ve ever had in the North East. I would like to eat this every day of my life but I’ll have to settle for when I come to Jersey.

Wow. Honestly, I don’t expect good Mexican food in the tri-state area (legitimate Mexican food, anyway). This place blew some of my favorite spots around the country, clean out of the water.

The tacos didn't taste like carnitas, more like dry pork rinds submerged in more oil. And the smell of the place takes away your appetite. The service even worse.
One of the best restaurants in town
