I recently dined at Spice Thai Bistro in Red Bank, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired.
To start, the service was notably unprofessional. Our waiter seemed distracted throughout the meal—he had one AirPod in the entire time, which likely contributed to several communication issues. For example, we asked for four cups of water, but only three were brought to the table, and even that required a reminder. It was clear he wasn’t fully paying attention, and that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Adding to the disorganization, the waiter struggled with the iPad used to take our order. It was a slow, awkward process that didn’t inspire confidence in the staff’s training or attention to detail. There were also no booths or glasses for water, just basic plastic cups, which made the dining environment feel more like a fast-casual spot than a proper bistro.
As for the food, I’d rate it a 7 out of 10—some dishes had decent flavor, but overall presentation was lacking, and the food didn’t look particularly appetizing. It’s the kind of meal where you might enjoy a bite or two but wouldn’t be rushing back for more.
All in all, Spice Thai Bistro has potential with its menu, but the poor service, lack of professionalism, and uninspired atmosphere make it hard to recommend at this time. Hopefully, with better staff training and a stronger focus on hospitality, the experience can improve.

Way too expensive for what you actually get. Ordered takeout, Shrimp Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice, added Calamari to the rice for $2. The serving of rice was amount of Calamari was about 1/8 of an ounce. The 4 individual shrimp in the Pad Thai were small. And it wasn't even that great. No different than any of the local Chinese food places that have Thai food items

4 of us went there last week for a early dinner prior to an event at Count Basie. We arrived before 6PM and there were only two tables in use. We ordered an appetizer and entrees. The appetizer, which was good came out in less than 10 minutes but the food took over an hour. I ordered my dish spicy, and it wasn't. I asked for peanut sauce on the side and it took 3 reminders to get it. By the time the food came, we had 10 minutes to eat and get to Count Basie for a 7:30 start. This was a Tuesday.

Nice little place in Red Bank for Thai food. Good service, and my order came very quickly. Nice people and I enjoyed our conversation. I ordered the Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with Calimari and Spring Rolls. Not knowing how spicy their dishes are, I asked for medium hot and was a bit disappointed it was not spicy enough. Good flavor, but it could have been quite a bit hotter.

I would avoid this place, ordered two items, the second one was not what we ordered, and less expensive than what we paid for, the drunken noodles are the worst I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many, go somewhere else. Seriously overpriced.

Small portions for $20 which are not filling, there are better options near by. Flavor wise not terrible I’d say alright at best.

Stir fry entrees are heavy on the oil, almost drowning in it. My experiences here have mostly been takeout and less than satisfactory.

A Journey of Mindful Eating

ā€œSpice and sweet in perfect blend,
A quiet peace, the journey’s end.
In each dish, the truth is found,
In balance, all things come around.ā€

In the practice of life, there is balance. In the practice of eating, there is also balance. This humble Thai restaurant offers food that speaks to the heart, reminding us that true nourishment comes not only from the body but from the spirit. Each dish is a reflection of harmony, where flavors meet with no conflict, just peace.

The cashew chicken is a beautiful example of balance—tenderness and crispness, warmth and flavor. The sauce is deep and grounding, while the cashews offer a gentle crunch, reminding us that the simplest of ingredients, when combined with mindfulness, bring joy and fulfillment. The drunken noodles, bold yet comforting, teach us that strength and serenity are not opposing forces but are united within each moment.

The green curry, with its soothing spice, reveals the truth that opposites exist not to create division but to coexist harmoniously. The massaman curry, rich and warm, reminds us of the gentle power of simplicity and patience in the kitchen, as in life.

The sweetness of mango sticky rice is like the sweetness of a peaceful heart, while the Thai iced tea brings coolness and clarity. Through this food, we learn that true contentment comes from presence—the art of tasting, reflecting, and being mindful in each moment.
