Amazing addition to RB’s west side! Love that Boondocks has opened a new outpost with a great backyard, frequent live music, friendly staff, and incredible menu of seafood options.Excited to return with friends and family when they are in town, and we love knowing that we can order a top-tier lobster roll for takeout any night after work.Congrats on the new location Boondocks and welcome to the west side! Can’t wait to come back.

Nice lobster, price and staff. Potatoes were not edible. Way too spicy.

We can now get Boondocks ALL YEAR?? What a treat! Right now it's take out only and it is fabulous. Our food is tasty, and don't forget about lobster night on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Food is reasonably priced but the quality varies from visit to visit. The staff is young and not well trained.

I can't review the food because it was not open ARGGHHH! Even though this page, their facebook, and website make no indication. Who Closes on Wed? for Lunch or keeps it a secret? Please post hours somewhere where I might have noticed it before making plans with friends and driving there to find a sign on the door that they are closed on Wed during the fall. Who closes on Wed. and does not post it. We had seafood lunch at Juanito's down the street. I was excellent.

Had a craving for seafood after leaving Asbury Park Beach. Googled restaurant near hotel we were staying at. Decided to go out on the limb! Absolutely no regrets. Don't let looks fool you! Inside was cozy and nicely set up including the outside patio. The workers from the owner to the chef to the server were young and bubbly. Very friendly. The food was fresh and nicely seasoned. Had the trio set with salmon, shrimp and scallops pan smeared. My fiance had the fried Cod fish. No alcohol but your personal is allowed. Was glad I went out on the limb! Will definitely be going back when in the neighborhood. Or even when I want to get away from NY The Chowda House will be #1 on my to do list.

This is a small BYOB, seafood, restaurant, very close to Red Bank train station. They have a cute patio, which is perfect for the summer. The food is delicious, perfectly prepared and large portions. It's great value, but the BYOB aspect makes it even cheaper. We shared the Raw plate and the mussels as appetizers, then had the Cod and an Advocado/Shrimp special as Entrees. All dishes were very tasty and perfectly prepared. Last, but by no means least, the Service! It was amazing. Our server (Sam) was one of the best servers we've had anywhere, ever. She was a delight. She said she was still at College, but her service was that of the best, experienced servers.

The Jennings family does a great job with their homemade red and white Chowdas, fresh fish, often right from Narragansett, where they are building another place. Casual nautical decor, good quality but reasonable lunches and dinners, and, with daily specials, tables handmade by Roy Sr., friendly personalized service, for any occasion. We wait for late spring/ summer, to eat out back on the oyster shell patio, at the picnic tables, with the beachy umbrellas and wall mural. Not far from the Jersey Shore, is a piece of the coast, right across from the train to the city. Come and enjoy.

We have been coming here for a long time, typically getting take out bisque and chowder which has always been good. We recently went on a Friday night and it was a disaster. There were not many tables full but it took almost 1.5 hours for our dinner to arrive and they brought us the wrong dishes. When we pointed this out they flatly stated that they had run out of some food and had made a substitution. And the food was really bad that night. I don;t know what happened here but I would recommend staying away until they fix the situation.

I brought my family here despite mixed experiences in the past. We know a person who works there, and have tried to support this local business. Sorry to say yesterday was the last time. So many faults: - service very slow - parts of the meal never delivered - rice undercooked, fish greasy - waitress rude, uninterested, just plain terrible It’s a shame because it could be a great little place, but simply too many bad experiences. Only thing positive is you can always get a table...not surprising.

After a long beach in Sea Bright day we looked online to see what sea food restaurants were around us. We found The Chowda House and based on previous reviews on Google decided to give it a try. I must say it is a cute restaurant with nice outdoor seating area. Other than that this restaurant was disappointing. The service was extremely slow and the place was not that busy. New England Clam chowder was not hot, more lukewarm and very watery. Appetizers and main dish was not that great either. I would not come here again.

A rainy, cool June Sunday. Perfect day for warm chowder and fish and chips. Best fish and chips I have had so far in Red Bank, hake or scrod, perfectly cooked with fresh cut chips. Manhattan chowder a bit bland for my taste, but warm and tomtoey.
