Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge

See photo. If you thought you already encountered ultimate price inflation - wrong! This place tops the cake vs quantity received. In fairness, Ice cream is outstanding. Price Pure silliness. Ordered smallest size for a quick stop for a kid! Coat almost $7.00, this is what they served - see photo(which doesn’t do justice to how small this cup is nor the actual amount in it… this cup is so tiny so an actual scoop, if we had received one, would easily be double the height of the cup)- for the smallest cup. The only place I’ve ever been and literally gives you one small scoop (maybe) of ice cream for this kind of price. Yes, I’ve been to places that charge this much, but they provide heaping scoops - especially for kids. Terrible approach to customer satisfaction.

Thank you for your response and explanation. It’s nice to see your business listens to local comments. I stated in my review and will state again, I thought (and my little child thought) the ice cream was 5-star. I could taste the quality and true flavor unlike synthetic flavoring in commercial brands. Kudos to you for maintaining quality. My disappointment was from the server who clearly saw this order was for a little child and made no effort to make the service a ‘happy’ experience. In fact, I asked this server directly “does that size serving seriously cost over $6?”. This server coldly answered ‘yup’. Quite atypical for what should be a happy experience (buying boutique ice cream). Why not just say - “ you know what, it actually looks a little thin, my mistake”. Geez.. it’s ice cream and it was at the end of holiday weekend. I don’t mind paying what you charge. The quality is appreciated and apparent, but with that price also should come with a service level that should be held accountable. How hard would it have been to give a 3-year old full cup of ice cream? I mean several weeks ago, we went to B & J around the corner and those young servers went above and beyond to give our child a smile and sizable serving (in a small kiddie cup). I am sorry for the disappointing experience but I think today’s young servers today need to be trained and held accountable to understand your prices are not just about the product.

This is my favorite place for ice cream.
This place has the most amazing ice cream flavors, they also have a ton of chocolate and different arrangements. Recently we had one of the ice cream cakes, it had several different ice creams, cookies and other things. It was delicious and it was called the grasshopper.

Parking: Plenty of spots on the street and nearby

Kid-friendliness: They have all kinds of flavors for many different options.

Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room to safely move a wheelchair in and around.

Absolutely the best best best confectionery place anywhere around! The dessert selection here is insane (way more than other Kilwins stores we’ve been to). The quality of the chocolate and caramel here is phenomenal. Like you can tell it is the real stuff and not watered-down sugary syrup. My family has been coming here for years and make it a regular tradition to visit often. All of the employees are friendly and professional. The owners Mary and Phil are so kind and really care about their customers. When our twins were little we wanted to surprise them with tickets to the Harry Potter Broadway show. We decided to send them on a scavenger hunt through Ridgewood with the final location being Kilwins. Phil and Mary were so kind to be a part of it and present our twins the final envelope with the Broadway tickets. Now they are heading off to college and we plan to return to Kilwins every time they come home. Thank you Phil and Mary and Kilwins for being such a great family place to grab some amazing desserts and make memories.

I LOVE kilwins. My son loves kilwins. We stop in at minimum twice a week. Not after today. Please do better training. Very rude, snotty, hyper little girl answering phones. Was extremely inaccurate and unhelpful. She actually hung up the phone while telling the owner I hung up (we do believe this part was intentional). What this boils down to, to include the phone issue is poor training. Clearly, she had no idea how to operate the phone nor a grasp of the menu, ordering requirements, allergies etc.

Toasted coconut is absolutely the best! And the raspberry sorbet is a delicious dairy free treat. Children prefer a traditional vanilla flavor! We all love Kilwins and keep coming back for some frozen treats!P.S. Unfortunately, it seems the prices went up recently (based on our most recent visit)… Pretty expensive for a family of 4.

Great flavors, excellent service. Tried multiple items until we all settled on different flavors.Everyone was happy with their choices.

Sometimes you get so lost in the fact that they sell all this great candy, by the way I love their salted caramel, that you forget they're ice cream rocks!
