La Tour in Ridgewood never disappoints. The mushroom soup is unbelievably flavorful and feels downright nourishing, and the short rib pappardelle is the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the plate is clean. We finished with their crème brûlée (perfectly creamy with that crackly top). The service is warm and attentive, and the chef personally coming around to check on guests adds such a thoughtful touch. It’s no surprise La Tour is the longest standing restaurant in town. The whole place has this charming Provençal vibe that makes you want to linger. Highly recommend...merci!

Food was amazing and the tasting menu was very reasonably priced for what you get! Service was also fantastic. If I had one complaint, it would be the bring your own bottle policy, but that's common for the area. Luckily liquor store just around the corner where we picked up a bottle of wine... Creme Brûlée highly recommended!

The food was outstanding and the Chef came out and spoke with all the patrons and he takes pride in the meals he prepares. The food was just as good as the food in Paris.
Excellent classic french food with superb service - we enjoyed it very much - they let us stay as long as we wanted to chat with our friends. Quiet around 6pm on a Sat night when we arrive but by 730pm, it was packed and a lot noisier. Decor is a bit odd but it still felt cozy on a cold winter night. On the pricier side but worth it if you are looking for a relaxing evening with friends. Everything we had was very good from the soups to the fish to the beef dishes and desserts. Seems like it would be a great choice when they have the prix fixe in place (Sundays/weekdays) and it stays quieter.
We had the 4 course prix fixe dinner. The lump crab meat strudel was overcooked and a little burnt on the bottom. The crispy duck leg was over cooked (and had a piece of bone) and the crispy filet of branzini was extremely overcooked and dry to the point it was almost inedible. Desserts were also underwhelming. The restaurant had about 5 tables seated and even with it being relatively slow, we had to ask for our waiter to take our order and constantly ask for our water to be refilled. We were very disappointed as we chose this restaurant to celebrate our first anniversary.
Chose the tasting menu and was just perfect. All courses were very tasty, and the dessert was amazing. Will definitely return.
We had not dined at LaTour in a while and thought we would celebrate a birthday there. I had requested a nice table for three in the front room when I made the reservation. The only table for three was right beyond the front door which , even with a screen to block the cold, was not suitable for a rainy January night. We were then brought to the back room to a small table set for two. A chair and place settling was added, but it was still too tight. With the extra chair it was difficult for the wait staff and patrons to get by without bumping into the back of the chair. I regretted not taking the larger table by the door. The appetizers were very good- cheese ravioli, pate, and escargot. Two out of the three entrees were also enjoyable- sliced duck breast and salmon. However the lamb was tough and even after the chef sent over another serving, it still was hard to eat. Only two of us had room for dessert and both were very tasty- crème brûlée and apple pie à la mode. The service, for the most part, was good, being that the restaurant was full. The chef was very welcoming and stopped at each table to converse with the diners. The setting was reminiscent of a cafe in Paris. Next time we will try to go on a weeknight to avoid the crowds which may improve our experience.
We've been going to Latour for years (and it has been around for years—around 30, I believe). It's a gem—perfect for our Saturday "date night" on a cold, rainy January evening. It's not trying to be cutting-edge or exotic or "molecular"; instead, it offers the great, classic French dishes, perfectly prepared. We love this restaurant—and we will be back!
Unbelievable food. We had a wonderful dinner at Latour. The food was prepared really well and the service was spectacular, for example our waters were full the entire evening. I love that it is BYOB. It's also a nice touch that the chef and owner himself came by to thank us for coming. The desserts were the highlight, phenomenal quality and almost all made in-house.
The ambience isn't loud and it's perfect for having a conversation with no blasting music. You technically don't need a reservation but just to be safe It's a good idea to make one.
Parking can be annoying in Ridgewood but just check the side streets and park for free and it'll be a 5-minute walk or so. 5 stars!

I had an amazing time at Latour, the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. the French ravioli with the fig compote is probably one of the best dishes in New Jersey, the braised short rib was tender and the apple strudel for dessert was was delightfully warm and the apples were cooked perfectly. They’ll have a guest for life.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. We came to celebrate a birthday and the whole experience was enchanting.
Appetizers: French onion soup and escargots a la bourguignone.
Main: apricot glazed duck breast in a Grand Marnier sauce.
Dessert: Cheese cake in Grand Marnier.
The food was absolutely delicious. The escargots were amazing and the sauce was delicious.
I am usually not a fan of duck as it tends to be dry, but at the suggestion of our fabulous server Alex I decided to take a chance. I have no clue how Mr. Latour did it, but it was an incredibly tender and succulent piece of meat!
The dessert was good but we could not taste the Grand Marnier.
Overall, this was a most enjoyable experience which we absolutely recommend and which we will definitely repeat.
Thank you!

On Nov 19, I celebrated my birthday at this . Had the prix fixe.menuMy appetizer special the Brie with the almond crust lacked flavor and was not warm. I'm sure they would have changed it if I had asked.
The meat dishes and dessert were excellent. Service was professional and very relaxed. The staff was very helpful and cut up a cake we bought at a local bakery. The atmosphere was very inviting some light music, lighting was just right and very quiet. Would certainly return and recommend this restaurant.
