Really delicious Persian food! I never had Persian food before. The place is warm and cozy, the tables are set when you walk in and it looks pretty casual fancy.

The service is very attentive. Right when we sat down the host gave us water which was nice. The waiter was a little too attentive, kept coming up to us to ask if we were ready to order when we were not, and just kept coming and coming every two minutes.

They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost.

We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn’t stop eating it. The steak was super juicy and well seasoned. I also really like the roasted tomato on the side, basil and pickled cabbage. We ordered a stew, think it was Ghormeh sabzi. It had a bunch of herbs in it, and beans and a dried lime. Was told not to eat the lime. It was a very strong and rich stew, I took a couple of bites. Don’t think I could have eaten the whole thing. It’s very strong. It’s our friend’s favorite Persian dish and she loved it. There was one dish we wanted that they ran out of but they gave us a couple of dollars off the bill which was nice.

Overall excellent food! Would come back.

Pardis is one of the top Persian and Mediterranean restaurants in Ridgwoods, New Jersey. For the appetizer, we had the traditional Persian Kashke-bademjan, a delightful blend of flavors. Our main course included lamb shanks with green rice and a family platter of kebabs featuring two koobideh, two barg, and one saffron-infused joojeh kabab. We also enjoyed tahdig with Ghormeh Sabzi, which was exceptionally delicious and unlike anything else. Fesenjoon with Tahdig also highly recommended. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Top notch lamb shank highly recommend with green rice. Beef kebab with grilled veggies and chicken also good. Nice interior with decent service. Take out often and just upgraded their dry flatbread to one that was a little thicker and softer perfect to dunk in the lamb shank sauce

This was my first Persian food experience and I was not disappointed. The portions are extremely generous given the prices. Service is fantastic and very professional. I had the beef kabob which was delicious and for dessert I had Turkish coffee (very strong but so delicious) and the best baclava I’ve ever had in my life. I was so distracted by how good the food looked when it arrived that I forgot to take pictures, I will do so on my next visit.

I recently visited Pardis Restaurant and tried their Ghormeh Sabzi stew. Overall, it was a satisfying experience. The stew was well-cooked, with tender meat, perfectly prepared beans, and flavorful vegetables. The amount of dried lime was just right, adding a balanced tanginess without being overpowering. The taste was close to authentic Ghormeh Sabzi, which I really appreciated. However, I think the stew could be slightly thicker and include fresher vegetables. Additionally, adjusting the spices to better reflect the flavors of traditional Persian cuisine would elevate the dish even further.

The rice, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. While it was very well-cooked and simmered to perfection, the quality of the rice itself didn’t quite meet the standard. That said, I understand that finding high-quality rice in the U.S. comparable to what’s available in Iran can be a challenge.

The restaurant itself has a fantastic atmosphere—organized, inviting, and cozy. The restaurant is relatively small so it’s a good idea to make a reservation in advance for larger gatherings. It’s also an excellent spot for family gatherings or catching up with friends. I even noticed several non-Iranian diners enjoying their meals, which shows how well-known Persian cuisine is in this area. The staff were professional and quick with their service, and I truly appreciated their attentiveness and hospitality.

One unique aspect I loved was their BYOB (bring your own bottle) policy. While they don’t serve alcohol, you’re welcome to bring your own, and there’s a wine and beer store just two minutes away across the street, making it super convenient.

The prices are very reasonable, especially when compared to Persian restaurants in other parts of the U.S., like Texas, California, or Oregon. I’m not sure about the parking situation at the restaurant since I walked there, but it seems like finding a parking space wouldn’t be a challenge, given Ridgewood’s population of only around 26,000 and the ample street parking I noticed nearby.

Overall, I’m happy with my experience and look forward to returning to try more dishes—especially their kabobs! Pardis Restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Overall, a very disappointing dining experience. I will not be returning. The food quality was subpar, starting with the broiled fish, which was unappealing, smelled like burned oil, and had no flavor. The chicken kabab and Barg were dry and lacked juiciness, while the Kashkbademjan was completely tasteless. The dishes overall were bland and lacked any memorable flavors.

To make matters worse, the staff were unprofessional and appeared to have little to no training in customer service. The ambiance was also unpleasant, with loud conversations echoing throughout the restaurant, making it difficult to enjoy the meal.

I strongly advise against wasting your time and money here. This restaurant falls short in every aspect—food, service, and atmosphere.
