Fantastic food! Loved dining in the beautiful outdoor space. Our waiter was lovely. Added bonus that it's BYO!

We were running late and tried to reschedule but the open table app would not allow us to do so. So we got to the restaurant much later than our scheduled time. The patio was almost full with a few parties going on there. We showed the owner the error msg we got from open table. He said no problem and had the waiter quickly clean up a table and had us seated without waiting long. It hard to believe the restaurant was so busy even on a weeknight. But the waiter was amazing swinging between tables holding so many trays at once. At the same time, he's so attentive to everyone. The owner also helped to refill water and open wine bottle for customers. We saw he was talking to a baby boy who's only few months old. He was also explaining a growing tomato plant to a curious little girl. It's good to see him try to make vegetables fun for a young child. Our food was as great as the atmosphere and service. We started with the summer salad that included watermelon and homemade mozzarella. It was amazing. We also had the bow tie pasta with pesto special as well as the Seabass. Both were delicious. We really enjoyed our evening. The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional.

The bread was plentiful, crispy on the outside ... light, delicious! Pasta fresh and tasty. Watermelon salad extraordinary. So light and great dressing. Loved sitting outside on a summer evening. Staff exceptional and attentive. Will be back soon.

Piccolo Bistro delivered another amazing dining experience. The food is absolutely outstanding—every dish burst with flavor and was expertly prepared. The presentation of the extensive daily specials by the owner was one of the most impressive I've ever encountered. We found it difficult to choose because they all sounded so good. The ambiance is warm and inviting, reminiscent of dining in an elegant Tuscan restaurant. From start to finish, an unforgettable meal. Highly recommend! No wonder there are always familiar faces at Piccolo Bistro every time we come.

Celebrate our friend's 84 birthday in advance and truly enjoy the octopus, Mediterranean salad and short ribs.

Nothing better than a mouthwatering salad on such hot summer day. And the covered patio keeps us in shade to enjoy the breeze! Healthy fresh ingredients made us energetic again after a long work day. We are both ready to dance our feet off tonight.

This restaurant is outstanding! I had never been before and decided to try it with a friend for dinner. Super friendly and attentive staff, very casual and fun atmosphere (we sat on the outdoor patio... they have heaters if it gets cold) and the food was absolutely delicious! My favorites were the Mediterranean salad and the risotto with asparagus and shrimp, which were perfect for my gluten free diet. I highly recommend dining at this local gem! I will definitely be back.

From my friend: The food was absolutely incredible! I highly HIGHLY recommend olive oil bread dip with a beautiful presentation. I cleaned the plate spotless with the fresh bread! We absolutely love the food and the experience that comes with it; Piccolo excelled in all aspects of a wonderful dining experience. Amazing amazing service, and to prove this the staff is consistent and has been working there ever since we moved in Ridgewood in 2022! Sandra, the host and manager is delightful as usual. Our server Tomas is so friendly and detail oriented which really made our experience enjoyable every time we came! We know when we go in there we will have the same incredible experience every time! I also love the penne vodka! My friend moved away from the area, to Brooklyn, and coming back home to this house warming experience is truly one of a kind! She has been vegan for 6 years, tried many 5 star vegan restaurants in NYC and all over the state and she said that this place was SO good. If you love eating out, like I do, and want a memorable experience you absolutely need to come to Piccolo Bistro!

It's my pleasure to bring our foodie group members dining at Piccolo Bistro in Ridgewood, and it was an absolute delight! One member commented: From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly service made us feel right at home. The other member commented: The food was incredible—I started with the Eggplant Rollatini, which was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. For my main course, the homemade Pappardelle with braised lamb ragu was outstanding—so tender and flavorful that I didn't want the meal to end. What made the experience even better? It's BYOB, so I was able to enjoy my favorite wine with dinner. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and everything was paced perfectly. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Italian food in a charming setting, Piccolo Bistro is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back! I truly hope more of our group members would enjoy the experience at piccolo bistro, a another new spot on our group list.

Nature

I'm an outdoor person and it's been such a long winter. As weather finally gets warmer, I googled “restaurant with outdoor setting in Ridgewood NJ”. Wow piccolo bistro has so many great reviews! So I headed down. Upon arrival , I asked to sit outside on the beautiful ivy decorated patio even though it was little chilly. The owner was so kind and was very thoughtful. He put one of his heaters on me and I was very appreciative and felt to so warm while enjoying people watching. Most places would've just asked me to sit inside, but it wouldn't have been as enjoyable. Here's one google review being very helpful for me to choose from the menu: An old-fashioned Italian gem hidden in downtown Ridgewood that begs your visit. It might have become my favorite Italian spot for now. I had the pleasure of dining here on rainy evening at the end of September with my family and we all left happy. I. ATMOSPHERE (4/5) - Old-world charm & Cozy, definitely going to rub some elbows if group-dining. They have decent-sized outdoor seating in the front that would be lovely during the warm weather. It was Saturday evening and the place was packed despite the drizzly weather outside. We had to wait a bit watching diners enjoying themselves for like 5 minutes, then was led to sit at the only available table for us (party of 5) at the back. II. FOOD (5/5) - We ordered family style which is, in my opinion how to dine in Italian trattorias, and here's how it went down. Bread & Pesto Olive oil dip (FREE, 5/5) - You're served a basket of warm rolls with this herbaceous oil dip. Once you start, you can't stop. Barbabietola ($15, SALAD, 5/5) - This is what you want to pair w/ heavy main fare. Just order it unless you can't stomach goat cheese. Generous sized bed of spinach and juicy sliced beets matched by ferocious clumps of goat cheese, topped with nice sized pear slices & balsamic drizzle. This and the bread would be much more refined version of Olive Garden's Bread & Salad combo.

My bestie and I went our first spring hike from Manhattan and ended up here. We sat out on the patio with a view of the street. We enjoyed people watching. Service was really great. Food was really delicious. Ambiance was chill and comfortable. Can't expect more on the food and vibes here. Will definitely be back.
