Long wait between each part. 2 out of the 5 dishes weren't great. The pancakes were tasteless. The water had a bad taste to it. Couldn't get past the water thing. On the upside, the people were nice and the place was funky.

Cute cafe in the heart of Ridgewood. We arrived on a Mon around 10am, two people. A server asked us to wait a min to make sure a table was clean (there were at least three empty tables that we could see) and while we were waiting, a second server came over and asked if we had a reservation. We did not (and did not think it was necessary being a late Mon morning when most people are at work). She told us we could put our names down for about a 30 min wait, so we did, and left to walk around the town to kill a half hour. We came back 30 min later and she still did not have a place to seat us, even though the same three tables were still visibly empty. We awkwardly waited inside the entrance of the small restaurant for a table (definitely feeling in the way) because we did not want to leave to walk around in the cold again. She eventually came back over to say a party was late for their reservation, so we could have their table - and then proceeded to seat us at a very small table for two that was pretty much on top of the table next to it. The seating arrangement was very uncomfortable and the other (bigger) tables were still open. Aside from that, the restaurant was very clean and decorated more towards the upscale end of the spectrum. They placed a small bowl of popcorn on the table for snacking while perusing the menu and it was fabulous - very light and sweet, I would love to know what they flavored it with. The food came out quickly and was good but not great. We ordered the Short Rib Benny (the ribs were so soft they melted but it was a bit lacking in flavor) and the Carmelized Banana Pancakes (which were very flavorful but the texture of the pancakes was more like bread.) The home fries were the best and they provided a perfecly-sized bowl of perfectly cooked potatoes - definitely a hit. Our server was attentive but not very friendly. We enjoyed our meal but were not excited enough over it to come back, and the awkward atmosphere made us not really want to come back anyway. It is a decent brunch location, but the vibe is just not comfy.Parking: Ridgewood is always difficult for parking, but there are metered lots and metered street parking that can be found almost always within a block or two.

My friend and I ate here for lunch and we both became sick with severe GI symptoms. We contacted the Ridgewood health department and discovered that five other patrons of this establishment also became ill.

Standard American fare. It’s consistent and nothing to go crazy over. Park West Tavern falls in the same ballpark and is better.I came recently for brunch and wasn’t very impressed. My burger was just okay, fries were soggy and drenched in oil.

Ordered Kale and Romaine Caesar Salad with the hanger steak. Took 32 minutes, I asked for bread (however it was not supplied), the steak was not cut, and the salad did not look fresh. I can get fresher salads at Kings. Also prices on the menu on the window are lower than prices of menu in the store and what u are charged . no other customers for 30 minutes on sat, save your money - goto restaurant next door

They should have a little more consideration with the delivery people, when the orders arrive they always start preparing them, they should have the lists and not make them wait 15 minutes.

Food was so bland and we waited 35 minutes for a simple salad and sandwich and a table that came after us got their food first. Minus the interior there was nothing good about this place.

A co-worker told me how wonderful this place was for brunch, but I never got around to getting over to it. I'd basically forgotten about the recommendation. Today however I was out and about in Ridgewood and when it got to lunch time - this seemed like the perfect place. It was a beautiful day - and we had a dog with us - so it was also one of the very few places that still had outdoor seating. That's a win! We let them know we'd be eating outside and immediately a server came out to clear the table, bring us water (and water for the dog) and a bowl of popcorn. Such a lovely nibble while we perused the menu. SO many delicious sounding options - especially with the salads and sandwiches. It was a soup sort of day though. There are two options - I asked about the special. The soup special was a creamy sweet potato - and there was an option to have a cup of that with half a sandwich. We both went for that. Both of us ordered the soup special - I had the veggie sandwich and my dining companion had the grilled cheese and bacon. The soup was great - rich and creamy and just enough to satisfy without being too much. The sandwiches were well executed. In particular for me, the mix of the whipped ricotta with the tomato jam and roasted vegetables on sourdough was fantastic. It's open face - and a little hard to cut - but still delicious. In the end I gave up on delicacy and picked it up with my hands. I'm looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu. Staff was helpful and friendly - we never felt ignored even though we were the only people eating outside.

Went for coffee and ended up having lunch. Ordered potato soup and chicken salad sandwich (both very tasty). Also ordered tomato soup (had a lot of cream kinda tasted like vodka sauce not tomato soup), and bacon grilled cheese (had tons of bacon which is not usually bad but tasted more like a bacon sandwich and given the very small amount of pesto, the overall eating experience was just too salty with no balance of flavors). I ended up not ordering coffee but did have the horchata (iced) which was tasty but with a very mild flavor (not enough spices). The cafe itself is beautiful and the bathroom was clean. The vibes are very cozy/glam and the overall experience was very nice. We were seated quickly, our food came out quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful. I'd certainly recommend giving them a visit.

When we walked in this morning , the gentleman let us know that they were under staffed . Yet even still the hospitality was not good at all . No smiles, and no questions asked to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The food is not as advertised and the timing of service is absolutely terrible . If you have little ones , please bring a snack or two. In regards to the ambiance of the cafe , very nice ! We will not be back .

I had high hopes for my recent visit to White Maple Cafe, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The ambiance was immediately ruined by the booming music that seemed to be blasting from the kitchen. It was so loud that it drowned out any chance of having a conversation without shouting. Not exactly the peaceful dining environment one hopes for.It seemed as though the kitchen staff was too caught up in their own jam session to focus on cooking. When our food arrived, it was not as expected, given the other upscale restaurants in the neighborhood we were expecting better quality meals. However, amidst this chaos, the one saving grace was our server, who was incredibly kind and provided exceptional service. The professionalism and demeanor were the only redeeming aspects of this otherwise dismal experience. It's a shame the efforts were overshadowed by the chaos behind the scenes. It's regrettable that the potentially pleasant dining experience was marred by these significant drawbacks.

Food was pretty good and perfect portions (you’re not going to have leftovers but you will leave full). Boyfriend ordered the short rib benny and he really enjoyed it. I got the California Benny and it was also good. The home fries were the star of the show though. They tasted like the Cajun 5 guys fries. We also got the strawberry lavender home made soda and they were really refreshing.
