It was slow for a Friday. We got there at 8 and the other 4 occupied tables left shortly after so it was very quiet. Our servers were all ours and very attentive. (One note about the bread, it comes already coated in olive oil, so it can be a bit drippy. Not sure if you can request it dry.) We had been there once before and we ordered the calamari to start again. It was very good, with a light, crispy batter, a little heat from the candied cherry peppers and overall pretty tender. Shared the Caesar salad next, classic and good, but unremarkable. My entree was the halibut; flavors were very good, over spinach and mashed, but the fish was a tad overcooked and so a bit dry. My husband had the scallops over risotto, which was very good. We didn't have dessert.
Plus: food and service pleasant Minus: smelly (carpets need cleaning), dark, cold (window air conditioners) - not a great vibe
We have eaten here a few times before last night and the food is always delicious. Last night we visited and there were some things that left us debating if we will go back.
First of all the restaurant needs some things fixed ~ when you walk in there is missing woodwork, broken tiles in the ceiling, and more making the restaurant look unkempt. After you get past that it is HOT in there. They need to put the air on earlier before dinner service. Now for the worst part of the night~ the service! We arrived early @6pm so it was Not crowded, but the server, an older man, acted as if he had the whole restaurant. He told us he was going to “get busy and you need to order your food when you order appetizers” Not exactly a great welcome. Fortunately the food did not come all at once. The waiter just made the meal so uncomfortable. He was routinely scattered and abrupt in his response. At 7:30ish we asked to see a dessert menu and he told us “they were making stuff today but it’s not ready all we have is tiramisu and bread pudding” He didn’t ask if we wanted any ~ he just walked up front and a minute later dropped off the check. No coffee. No asking if we wanted the dessert choices (we did). He was rude. I am not sure we will be back. Chef Jason’s food is amazing & always a great treat but no one wants to experience that kind of service when they pay money for food.

Food was good but some of our dishes came out colder than was enjoyable. Waters were never refilled without asking. The in wall AC units made the place smell moldy. But the food was good enough and it was quiet and spacious and the service was pretty decent so I could consider going back
Got the mac & cheese short ribs, was very good and the staff was very nice

Such a wonderful experience all around! I took my family here for dinner wanting to treat them to a high quality meal and Louie's absolutely delivered! The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, and the service was very friendly. The prices were affordable, especially for such large portions of delicious food. I also love that it's BYOB, it made it more affordable and personal because we could bring wine we know we like. I'm already excited to come back here!
Great food and ambience. Would recommend and looking forward to going again. Service was also on point

We were in NJ for an event and needed a place for dinner. Louie's got great ratings, so we booked a reservation. did not disappoint! Very unassuming establishment, but the food was top rate, as was the service. Hot and fresh out of the kitchen - not standing under a warming lamp. BYOB which is great and a liquor store right next door that stocks very nice wines. Great find!
Service was amazing. The calamari and the pasta special was nice. The pretzel chicken was extremely dry and the Dijon sauce was OK. The steak was tough and the burgundy sauce or whatever that was unrecognizable flavor was pretty terrible. The dish look like a mess. My wedge salad was awful. I picked the restaurant because the ratings were good. It might have been a bad night and or Jason wasn't there. Everyone has a bad day, so give it a try and see how they do with your meal. Good luck
I went to Louie’s by Chef Jason in Robbinsville for a private party. The food was outstanding. I had the chicken parmigiana—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was warm and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and modern. Everything felt well-run and welcoming. Highly recommend for special events or a great night out.

The dining experience at Louie's is always a pleasure. The food is always great, as well as the service and atmosphere.
Overall the evening was a wonderful dining experience. Service was exceptional- a shout out to our server Gerard. A few minor things keep me from giving a five star rating . We ordered the PEI mussels as an app but after a few minutes were told they weren't available. - bummer. However, the cherry glazed calamari was a delicious discovery. One other minor ‘mistake' was getting asparagus instead of the broccoli as stated on the menu with my entree but that was fine by me - who really eats broccoli? We can't wait to return and enjoy a very pleasant dinner with a bottle of our favorite wine. Don't forget - it's BYOB.
