We visited Shayona Cafe right after touring the beautiful Hindu temple (which is definitely worth a visit!). The restaurant opens at 11 AM and there was already a long line forming outside. That’s usually a good sign!

One thing I really liked — ordering is done through kiosks.
No pressure trying to pronounce dish names I’m not familiar with, and everything is clearly displayed with pictures and descriptions. Once you finish ordering, the kiosk tells you exactly which station to pick up your food from. Super organized and easy to understand. You still pay at the counter since some items are self-serve, but the flow is smooth and friendly.

We ordered two items:
🍕 Shayona Signature Pizza
→ WOW. This pizza was seriously soooo good. The pesto sauce, the marinated cottage cheese, and the slightly crispy crust all worked perfectly together. I would come back just for this.

🥟 Samosa Chaat
→ Also tasty! Warm samosa topped with chutneys and yogurt — flavorful, tangy, and very filling.

Everything here is vegetarian and fresh, and the prices are reasonable. If you're visiting the temple, you should absolutely stop by this restaurant. Actually… even if you’re not visiting the temple, still come for the pizza. You won’t regret it! 😄

Don’t forget to stop by the small market right next door.
They have all kinds of Indian snacks and sweets — perfect for trying something new or bringing a few treats home!

Tried Shayona Cafe at the BAPS temple – had rabdi jalebi, papdi chaat, masala chaas, and madras coffee. Bit expensive and portions were small, but the jalebi and chaas were really good.

Hideous prices for a religious establishment. This should should be focusing on affordability, but they are ripping off people! Their own people! And at each checkout they have the audacity to ask for donation- $11!!!
And they have two checkouts- one just to place order for food and second to pay. They ask for donations even at the nonpay checkout lmao.. what a disappointment and

Everyone there were so lovely , the Temple and grounds are truly magnificent and should be celebrated for its workmanship and dedication. The cafe was enjoyable, the food was delicious and reasonable. We also enjoyed the food market and gift shop, we brought home purchases from both. Thank you for an amazing experience.

The food is reasonable for the price.
Very flavorful and it's convenient that it's right there inside the temple complex.
Many tables in the seating area, so even when it's busy doesn't feel overcrowded.
The order and pickup system can be a little confusing, but other than that we had a good experience and will come back.

BAPS SWAMINARAYAN Akshardham makes my heart swell with pride and joy! Pardon me for bringing this to light: - I visited the BAPS SWAMINARAYAN Akshardham and was dismayed at seeing a couple taking pictures kissing in front of the Akshardham. I get that this mandir is open to the public and has become a tourist attraction because of its magnificence. But at the end of the day, it is still a Hindu Temple and a sacred place where Hindus worship and in this case the house of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Some people are visiting for their tic-toc, Facebook and Instagram viral moment; as you’d be amazed at the poses you see people striking for pictures, but they should be RESPECTFUL OF HINDU CULTURAL NORMS! When visiting any Basilica in Europe - Clothing should generally cover the shoulders, chest, midriff, and knees. The dress code is similar here. People don’t have to wear traditional Hindu Attire but PLEASE, the public should dress modestly to show respect for ancient cultural traditions and norms! Wearing leggings is not dressing modestly. No one wants to see women’s bootie at a mandir! And kissing on the lips at a Mandir is the equivalent to tourists etching their names onto the walls of Rome’s Colosseum. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE CULTURE AND NORMS OF THE PLACE YOU”RE VISITING! OM SHANTI

So incredibly good wowowow. It is a little messy tho with the tablets you don’t know where the hell to pay or to wait i think clearer lines and directions would be helpful. Nevertheless so much choice that accommodates the needs of everyone, and i think the Indian food was legit and so so good. Just the mango lassi could have been cheaper or labelled more clearly as it was 4$ at checkout for such a tiny bottle.
