The Red Hut Diner in Rockaway, NJ was a great spot for our holiday get together. We anticipated 14 people and had 15 show up. Called ahead to make a reservation and then let them know day of when we were headed over. Super easy and appreciated the effective communication!
Randy and Mike, our waiters, were super accommodating and helpful. They got all our orders right including modifications. The table was set up and prepared for us ahead of time with menus and silverware ready to go. The food was affordable and tasty, so I’m not sure what more we could ask for! I got a beef gyro sandwich and fries. So filling and delish! Too bad I was full, cause I would have gotten ice cream. Our waiters even let us do a bunch of separate checks, which was much appreciated as I know it was tedious to keep everyone’s orders straight! Parking was easy and people even got food to go / take out. I greatly appreciated that our party wasn’t rushed and definitely felt welcome to chat and enjoy.

I was very disappointed in their policy and lack of customer service. I simply requested to change out hash brown potatoes for corn beef hash and offered to pay an upcharge and I was told NO. I asked why and was told We don't do that here! Maybe that is the reason that not many people were there during breakfast.

Horrible service. Probably the worst I have had at a restaurant. The food is average to below average. The waitress (tall one) made faces at us and brought an incorrect order. We are never coming back. The gluten-free pancakes are not great.

I have only been here for breakfast. Servers are always pleasant and there is a breakfast specials menu. There is a 10% discount for veterans.

I recently visited Red Hut Diner and ordered the Healthy Choice Avocado Toast. (Lunch Special Menu)The food itself was fresh and delicious, and I really enjoyed the meal.
However, I was disappointed with the service. The menu said the dish comes with either a dessert or soup, but the waitress never asked which one I would like. At the end of my meal, I asked about the dessert, and she said no, even though the menu suggested it was included. This was confusing and a bit frustrating.
Overall, the food was great, but I hope the staff can be more attentive to menu details and communicate better with customers in the future.
