A friend and I recently tried out the Red Hut Diner for the first time. Initially, things seemed OK: the staff was polite, the place was clean and not too noisy, and we were promptly seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, our appetizer was enjoyable, and my entree had no issues. The problems began with my friend's food. He'd ordered the battered cod special with tartar sauce, but the batter was raw and undercooked, and the tartar sauce was bubbling and rancid. He informed our waitress, who asked if he wanted to order something else, but by that point he'd lost his appetite. We were planning on trying the desserts, but by that point had lost all interest. We went to pay, and my friend explained in detail what happened with his food to the cashier, who I suspect was the manager. The cashier/manager's response was to go to a refrigerator near the counter, take out a container of tartar sauce (which looked completely fine, unlike my friend's), and then, in a moment that shocked us, stuck his finger in the sauce to taste it, pause, then taste it again. He said it tasted fine, not even asking to see either my friend's sauce or cod. Rather than strike the cod from the bill, which my friend couldn't finish due to being inedible, the manager said the best he could do was take 10% off the total. At this point, my friend and I were surprised, but also completely done with the Red Hut Diner. We paid, left, and later made sure to tell our friends and family about our disappointing experience, and why we don't recommend the Red Hut Diner and are never going back. This is a case where the situation could've been remedied, but instead was poorly handled due to management focusing on short term gain, instead of long term customers (and profit).

I’ve been a regular at Red Hut Diner for a few months, and I’ve always appreciated the great customer service I received from the waitress in charge on Tuesdays and that serves during the week. It’s one of the main reasons I kept coming back. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been incredibly disappointing due to poor customer service and management.
On my last visit, a Spanish waitress behind the counter made eye contact with me but didn’t greet or acknowledge me at all. Even though she was just 2 feet away from where I sat at coffee bar, the Spanish male manager, standing 10 feet away, had to instruct her to serve me. It made me feel awkward and uncomfortable but i ignored that. When I asked about menu items, her attitude was rude and dismissive, as if she didn’t want to be there.
This was the second time I’ve felt uncomfortable enough to leave. As I got up to walk out, the Spanish male manager witnessed everything but offered no apology or attempt to correct the situation. I always tip well and expect to be treated with respect as a paying customer, but that wasn’t the case here.
While I won’t be returning, I want to acknowledge the waitress who is in charge on Tuesdays – she’s always been phenomenal and provides excellent customer service, always acknowledging me remembers my order down to every little detail. If more of the staff followed her lead no customer would every be disappointed!

Plenty of parking, Bright cheery, atmosphere...attentive service. The Banana French Toast was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I had steak and eggs..the steak was tender and juicy. Looking forward to going back.

This was my wife and I's first time to The Red Hut Diner and I have to tell you we were very pleased. Stopped in for Sunday breakfast. I had my usual 2 Eggs over easy Hash Browns, Rye Toast, Bacon and Coffee. I was very happy. Everything was cooked just the way I liked it and the coffee was good. My wife got the Irish omelet with Hash Browns. An omelet with corn beef. She said It was cooked perfect and it was good. For us, the portions were large and the prices were reasonable. It was a nice Sunday Treat. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The diner has a nice interior is well laid out and is very clean. Sorry I didn't take more pictures. I was tired.
