“This place is truly one of the best parts of Rockaway. I work at the doctor's office up the street from it and we order take out a lot. They serve all the classic bar favorites to perfection! The juicy burgers are fresh and absolutely fantastic...and OMG the cheesesteak is AWESOME!!!!! But what really makes this place standout are the people behind all of it. Bridgett, the owner, is genuinely one of the loveliest and most accommodating people you'll ever meet. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome, and you can tell that she puts her heart into the place. She will personally deliver our food to our office every single time because we are so busy. And Myles deserves a huge shout-out. That man can cook a burger like nobody else, and the cheesesteak he puts out is honestly next-level! You can taste the care and skill in every bite of it. It's disappointing to see a few unfair reviews floating around, because they don't reflect the real experience here. Great food, great atmosphere, and truly GREAT people. The Mill deserves all the support in the world!”

“Love the food here but boy do I dread meeting those two men who run the restaurant. Always stoic and very stingy with the veggies, if i ask for more, they always seem annoyed and will only add 3 little cubes of diced cucumbers 😂Ordered here many weeks back, I didn't tip and the guy who was serving me walked away mumbling something in his language. His coworker then came to finish transaction. Please be kind to people because that's how you retain your customers and attract new ones.”

“Just tried this place out to see if the high rating was real or not. The real reason is we hoped the positive reviews were true. We got tacos with rice and beans. Simple dish, but it's smell and taste were through the roof perfection. Three warm savory corn tortillas for each and each delectable. It reminded me of the best Mexican street food, only better, I had a seat! The staff is basically all family and THAT alone says something about the care behind every dish.”

I can't say enough good things about Riviera Maya Mexican in Rockaway! This place has quickly become a favorite stop for me and my fellow soldiers during our drill weekends. The food is consistently fresh and absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options that never disappoint.

The service is always fast and friendly, making us feel right at home every time we visit. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience, which is truly appreciated, especially when we come in with a group of about a dozen.

“Jake was so sweet and amazing at the register, but the cooks kept messing up everyone's orders including mine. When the food is done correctly, it is amazing and tasty, but on a Saturday night, there were two new cooks who did not listen to anyone. Everyone was getting mad and they were making the food in the wrong order. I talked to the manager that night, and the cooks would not listen to her. Poor Jake was taking all the heat for the cooks' mistakes.”

“Had a problem with my burger that the lead manager came over and fixed promptly, but the bespectacled man who took our order was passive-aggressive and very condescending. According to our receipt, apparently the man's name was Lorenzo. In the first place, Lorenzo refused to even take my order until my fiancé (who was with me) ordered her food first. The reason Lorenzo gave for this was simply an insistence on "ladies first!" While Lorenzo had a point about this being good manners and proper etiquette, for him to be as adamant and imposing about it was rude, inappropriate and uncalled-for in the context of a customer service experience. Not only this, but every time I politely asked him a question about if a certain condiment had been placed on my order or not, he would reply "You already said that" in an extremely passive-aggressive manner if I managed to accidentally repeat myself. Lorenzo's whole attitude made it seem like he was trying to make me look as bad as he possibly could in front of my woman, which makes me wonder if perhaps it was a lame- brained attempt to steal someone else's lady. Apparently, he felt that I needed to be "put in my place", when I in fact did nothing to deserve this treatment. All I did was initiate was a simple business transaction. This whole encounter made me feel like a victim of reverse racism, due to the fact the cashier in question was black and he was acting like he was under the impression that white people owe him something besides the money they pay for their food at this location. And if not reverse racism, then I am accusing Lorenzo of blatant gender-on-gender misandry.”

When I visit my family, we get China Garden because they know how I miss this food. It has only gotten better and better over the years.
