“Great food. Often busy at nights - especially Friday and Saturday and it can get loud. Never had to wait for a seat for lunch. Service is great but can be slow when crowded. One of the few restaurants that serves red miso soup which I prefer over the more bland white miso you usually get at Japanese restaurants.“

“The food is top notch. From the soup to the sushi. Even the ice cream is delicious. What really bothers me though is the service. There is a 90 minute time limit which I get but when you are rushed to get out by an hour that’s not right. Also when you’re hounding tables waiting to literally take a plate because you have nothing else to do that’s a problem. Finally when you’re coming up to tables and asking them for platters back because you don’t have enough supposedly that’s not good either. Last night I was hounded constantly. Twice I had people tell me to move my sushi to my paper plate because they needed the platter. May I suggest buying more platters. Love the food and yes I know I’ll be back but the service was ridiculous in your face. Don’t come here for date night because they don’t leave you alone“

I visited Thailand and tried to find someplace with a similar kitchen, but all I tried before was just imitation. 181 Howard Blvd has the most unique and talented chief cook! “The food was fantastic, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. We have a spirited 3-year-old, and not once did we feel unwelcome—in fact, quite the opposite. Everyone was so warm and kind, and even the sushi chef made a point to smile and wave at our daughter. Those little moments mean the world to us tired parents.

I had the chicken katsu—perfectly crispy, just the way I like it—and the egg fried rice was spot on. Pro tip: skip the soy sauce and squeeze a little lemon over the chicken and rice. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

“From what I shared last time (food being so delicious) very disspointed now. Had to throw everything in the garbage today - sushi rolls (spicy tuna and spicy salmon) did not smell fresh at all, looked very different. Ramen soup was disguisting. We used to love this place, truly loved. But last couple of times food seems not the same. Also Doordash took two hours to deliver instead of promised 45 min- have a feeling they were looking for fresh fish and could not find it - so result was obvious. “I had a great experience here. I ordered the sushi combo. I got shrimp tempura, soup and a house salad on the side. It was very delicious and the service was very nice. She is a very sweet lady. The atmosphere is small but very pleasant and calm if you want a quiet spot.“
