“Very impressed with Ju-Ichi Japanese Restaurant dining experience. We came before 6 pm with a large group knowing we might have to wait but was able to be seated in less than 30 mins.
Our group ordered to dine “family-style” to allow us to sample a wide range of dishes. The rolls, and hand rolls are very good as were the bowls of udon and other dishes we’d sampled.
Service was quick and efficient.“

“i've been going here a lot for lunch this year and i've always had a great experience.

however, last week i ordered a poke bowl and noticed that they changed their containers from paper to plastic. its not that huge of a deal, but the plastic containers are smaller than the paper but the price is the same. additonally, the vegetables in my poke bowl were not that fresh which was unusual.

it's not too huge of a deal and i'll continue to support this place, but i'll always advocate for more eco friendly choices. if possible, please return to the paper bowls!“

“Look at this other review down here lol It's sushi from a grocery store, that's made and packed. What do you expect? A master sushi chef straight from Tokyo, or Fukuoka, or Hokaido, sitting in Shoprite taking orders?They make good sushi when it's just made. You eat sushi that's been sitting in your fridge for even an hour, it's not as good as fresh, but still good.“

There is a 90 minute time limit which I get but when you are rushed to get out by an hour that’s not right. Also when you’re hounding tables waiting to literally take a plate because you have nothing else to do that’s a problem. Finally when you’re coming up to tables and asking them for platters back because you don’t have enough supposedly that’s not good either. Last night I was hounded constantly. Twice I had people tell me to move my sushi to my paper plate because they needed the platter. May I suggest buying more platters. Love the food and yes I know I’ll be back but the service was ridiculous in your face. Don’t come here for date night because they don’t leave you alone“

We were relieved when they announced they were opening up in a much more appropriate and highly upgraded venue. This was perfect timing for us to celebrate our 9 year anniversary here. Upon arriving the inside captures the comfort and style of the Livingston location and then improves upon it with the beautiful outside seating area. Now onto the food which is just as good if not better than the original location im glad to see the quality has remained consistent. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wifes pasta dish was packed with quality flavor. The drink menu was definitely brought to the next level as well everything seemed like it was fine tuned and everything we tried was on point and had its own unique delicious flavor profile. Andy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to about the different cocktails. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great it wasn't youre traditional kind but we loved the spin they put on it with the cake and ice-cream. Lastly for service Jonathan took amazing care of us and made our special day very memorable along with the rest of the staff. Everyone that came by the table was professional and had a smile on their face. They all seemed happy and took pride in their work which was nice to see. We ordered scallion pancakes as a shared appetizer and I had a cup of wonton soup. My entree was chicken Mei fun and my dinner guest had pineapple chicken with brown rice. The portions were ample and all food was prepared and presented well. The scallion pancakes were crispy and not dripping in oil. The wonton soup was tasty and not salty. Overall we had no complaints. The business does what appears to be a greater pick up business than dine in. The restaurant decor is pleasant. We certainly will come back.“
