“Always searching for new pizzerias, I stopped in for lunch at Pizza Rustica yesterday. This restaurant is located in a strip mall off Main Street in Rockaway. There's plenty of parking in the lot in front. The place is big inside with plenty of seating. The counter is on the right with a few small tables. To the left is a large dining room. I always love when there's plenty of choices of pies for slices, and they had an excellent selection here. I chose a slice of broccoli rabe with sausage. That combo is great and you don't find that on pies too often. Very friendly server behind the counter giving details on other pies. It was a fun stop and I definitely recommend!“

Food was delicious and service was good. Tandoori parantha was really well made and the veg khubani malai kofta was really delicious. Our server, Hillary, went above and beyond to explain the menu, guide us to making superb choices and kept us well entertained with her wit and humor. The filet was perfectly prepared, simply the best steak I ever tasted. The sides were equally good, and we found a very nice Malbec that complimented the meal perfectly. My husband and I shared the bread pudding for dessert, which was delicious. The portion was so large, we brought half of it home. Absolutely a top recommendation. We will be returning!“

“I really really really like this place. I ordered penne (a form of pasta) with butter alongside my family, and I love this place very much. The penne is beyond the term exquisite and the butter with it was amazing. I can only say the downside is the physical appearance and even then I like it. It's a little cramped and it's relatively hard to navigate when with a group even though the place is small, but I genuinely love this place very much. Overall on a scale of 1-10, I'm giving this a 9.7 due to the small inconvenience of small size it that's what happens when your located in a strip-mall. Thank you for your service and food!!“

Alan is a top notch waiter and German is a first class bartender/front of the house who does an excellent job of interacting with the patrons. We were sorry to miss Carlos, one of the best in the business. Our meal was a 10/10, don’t miss the firecracker calamari. My wife had the filet and loved every bite. The grilled marinated hanger steak was cooked to perfection and their scalloped potatoes are the standard by which all others should be measured. Truly superior restaurant, highly recommend.“

“Overall, solid choice and worth a visit if you're in the area. Typical bar scene with large television screens broadcasting a variety of major sports games, so it does tend to get rather loud inside. But also decently family friendly assuming you're ok with the large tv's around. Decent selection of drinks, and the happy hour specials are well worth the bang for your buck. I personally enjoy the LIT (Long Island), but the House Margarita Special is probably a better deal. Food is pretty much what you'd expect to find at a bar. Large menu so chances are you'll be able to find something that works for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the mozzarella sticks which was the star of the show for me. It is nice that they let you add onto sides for an extra charge. I've tried several of the entrees but nothing stands out. Overall quality is average across the board. Have not ventured into the dessert options here but they looked good for what it's worth, I'll have to give them a shot one time. My experience with service here has been mixed. On my most recent visit, they did very well apart from taking a long time to bring refills/check, but given how busy it gets on weekends it was understandable. However, I have had other times where my order has been messed up without an apology and were visibly upset that I asked for it to be fixed. Personally I prefer here over Tommy's but some may disagree.“

“I started writing this big, long and detailed review/ description of this place, and about 3 paragraphs in, I decided 1) no one has the time to read a story like that but 2) and really more importantly, this restaurant, this specific location in particular, is LEGIT.From the 1st time I tried it, to each and every time since, quality, delicious food made with top shelf ingredients. I'll sum it up by saying this, and you other foodies out there will know right away what I mean. How many times do you get chicken from a pizza place, and it's the rubbery chicken flap they get from a restaurant depot in bulk to save money?? More often that not right? Then, once in a while, you get a pizzeria where you unexpectedly bite into a chicken dish, and it's a nice, thick, juicy piece of actual chicken, and you're literally like "whoa, that's delicious" yeah, that's this place, but with everything“

“Even if you're not into Chinese food, you've got to admire the style that comes with it. My top-tier chums and I came here for lunch yesterday after The Pasta Shop had a 90-minute wait (which annoyed them/pretty much quashed any interest they had in trying to go back, and made me want to go even more - so it goes), and were rewarded with approximately a 30-second wait for a table here. Boy is there a lot to look at; I'm not going to risk using incorrect terminology in describing this building, but it's a lot. I'm assuming it's a fairly accurate interpretation of an "authentic" Chinese structure, but that's as far as I'm going. Very unique, very cool. And as someone who has spent a bit of time at a time vortex Chinese place in Rockland County of late, apparently aquariums are a big part of the decor. If you're looking for information on Hunan's authentic Chinese dishes, you've come to the wrong place - we went so basic, we might as well have ordered this with a side of Uggs and a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I ordered my tried and true Sweet & Sour Chicken, one top-tier chum ordered the Sesame Chicken, and the other top-tier chum ordered General Tso's Chicken. The edgiest item we procured were the steamed pork dumplings app to share.Everything here was very solid. These are obviously items that we'd typically get from a hole-in-the-wall takeout establishment, so it was a nice change of pace to eat the chicken off of actual plates (maybe most people do that too with their takeout orders, but I'm a barbarian through and through). The two keys for me when it comes to sweet & sour chicken are ensuring the chicken isn't overly deep fried where you're eating more fried skin than meat, and that the sauce is on the thicker side. Hunan checked off both boxes here, and since it was served with some vegetables, etc., there was some extra flavoring at play as well. The dumplings were very good as well. I've become more of a soup dumpling adherent in recent years, but I liked the seasoning in the pork and was pleased we got something other than generic chicken with our meal. The service overall was above average. I thought it slowed down noticeably towards the end, though we weren't in a rush or anything. But we'd clearly stopped eating and didn't receive a visit from anyone to pack up the leftovers for about 20 minutes - not egregious, and there were tons of staffers all over the place and it would have been very easy to hail someone down if the urgent need arose. Beyond that, everyone we interacted with was pleasant and efficient. One of my chums noted a party room in the back and was openly pondering the possibility of returning in the near future and hosting a birthday in there. I wasn't QUITE as blown away by this place as she was, but I'd definitely come back. But since I'm not a frisky teenager anymore, I sadly have to pick and choose my moments to chow down on Chinese food these days. The perils of Geriatric Oregon Trail Millennial-hood.“

Would highly recommend trying it, you will want to lick the plate clean. They serve warm soft bread sticks and garlic knots with fresh EVOO. For dessert we had the coconut crème brûlée (served with toasted coconut on top) which was nice as well. We were served and helped by Daniel who was a pleasure and gave us great suggestions and was a pro when it came to the menu. Lovely cozy place with friendly and warm staff would definitely visit again!“

I enjoyed the deviled egg appetizer that was sprinkled with bacon bits. The popcorn shrimp was not the small sized ones that were expected. Only 4 large shrimp came to an order so we had to order 2. The fried okra and potato skins were enjoyed too. Our guests loved their burgers, pulled pork, chipped beef and salmon salad. I am sorry to say that I was disappointed in my dry herb chicken breast and overly charred grilled vegetables. Service was excellent. The place was very busy on a Wednesday night. It is bright and tight (with spacing of tables). There is no dedicated lot, so you have to find parking on the nearby streets.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an alleyway to the right of the restaurant with a side door that is good.
