Food is excellent. Casual pace for meal. Do make reservations because the dining room is small.
Kid-friendliness: So long as your kid knows how to behave in a restaurant, you're fine. I'd say 10 yrs. and older is good.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's tight, but the staff will make sure you can come and go safely.

Was invited to a dinner there so had no expectations, but the food was really good! Loved my pork chop, and the mussels appetizer was really tasty as well. A little older, more quiet atmosphere.

Disappointing meal. Had 6:45 reservations, didn’t get sat at our table until 7:30. Took another 15 minutes to get our drink order, and some of the food was cold when it arrived to the table. We won’t be back.

Good food! Pork chops was really good
We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday at The Hibernia Inn over the weekend and it was absolutely perfect! “Luzzi’s” (what we have always called it) has always been our go to for special occasions or just for those times we wanted a nice meal so of course we chose there to celebrate mom. Dan the owner was FANTASTIC, he was worried about our group being comfortable (13 of us) to the point he called me to discuss possible table configurations. I asked if I could bring flowers, balloons, cookies and dessert and Dan said do whatever you want! His primary concern was that we had a great experience and we did! All 13 of us were around a big table and were comfortable, the dessert I brought was plated beautifully with a squirt of whipped cream and powdered sugar and our dinner….DELICIOUS!! Everyone raved about their meals and the house salad (a must when eating there) They also went above and beyond for my nephew! He has many food allergies so when dining out his go to is French fries. Unfortunately when I spoke with Dan, I forgot to ask if they had fries on their menu. When we got there, we realized they didn’t have them but somehow they managed to scrape up not one but 2 plates full! Most importantly mom had an unforgettable day! We can’t thank Dan and his staff enough for helping to make our mom’s day so special!

We had a lovely meal after our hike up Wildcat Ridge. Our waitress was very friendly, there's a lovely bar, and we enjoyed our fish and pork chop.
Beautiful inside, a relaxed but fancy/nice restaurant. Extensive menu with many choices. We enjoyed all our courses/selections. The waitress was polite and attentive. The customers respectful and polite. A great place to visit for good food, in a nicer atmosphere.

The Hibernia Inn (or Luzzi's as my grandparents called it) is a Green Pond Rd gem. I've been here many times and the meal is always incredible and topped off with a decaf cappuccino

Love love love this restaurant Luzzi’s Hibernia Inn. The entire staff are always so friendly, welcoming & more than accommodating each and every time I visit this restaurant. it is my most favorite restaurant in New Jersey honestly. The owner, Dr. Dan Dandy is amazing, he special ordered softshell crab so we could enjoy it last evening. It was fabulously delicious like it is each and every season I go there for softshell crab ?. The pasta dishes are amazing too!! Their cocktails are done with style and the best cosmopolitans ever ?
Their crème brûlée is the best I’ve ever had. The cappuccinos ☕️ are done perfectly.
Christina was our waitress, a sweet young lady, with charm and provided us with the most perfect dining experience. The atmosphere is very relaxing and peaceful, great parking and they don’t charge the 4% credit card fee when you dine there.
Thank you, Dan for getting the softshell crabs

Dined her many times years ago when I worked nearby, it’s been over 20 yrs. It was excellent then, and still is now! Some of the best Italian food you can have. Everything we had was excellent… fresh & full of flavor. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but so worth the trip. I live in Florida and have had many grouper meals, the potato crusted grouper here is ?! The best I ever had. My wife had a chicken dish with pasta that was the bomb. My buddy had the pork chop that was tender and tasty. If you’re looking for a quite atmosphere with great cocktails and fantastic food, you need to make plans to drive to Hibernia Inn ( approximately 3 miles off the Hibernia/Rockaway exit off of Rt 80). This is family owned for many years and they keep bringing a excellent dinning experience. Wish they were in my home town in Florida ?
