Historic Rocky Hill Inn & Tavern

First time and absolutely loved it ; we give a 5+ star rating- great beer/hard cider & and amazing burgers (fried green tomato—yum!) with a unique flare & fries were amazing, along with a cozy atmosphere! Highly recommend.

RHI has the best burgers in the Somerset County, some argue the whole of NJ. Always consistent and delicious! Cozy bar area that can get busy during the weekend nights. The Inn is setup great with the original rooms as dining areas on first and second floors.
Definitely call for reservations. You can hang by the bar if you want to wait for a table, but best to get that reso.

Saw the Roxy Hill Inn on Triple D and saved it for later. We were in the area and stopped for dinner. Best burger I've had hands down.

They have a nice selection of beer. I tried a lager that I never had before. It was tasty and cold (just how I think beer should be served!) I really enjoyed the fish and chips I ordered, and my three lunch companions all liked the meals they chose. I'm sure we'll go back again.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch, had well made beverage at the bar, which was well attended, then settled in for lunch in the dining room. We shared those tasty devils on horseback, which make you ready to chow down. Just for kicks I ordered the Mutha Clucka, an interestingly flavored chicken sandwich. Loved it. My wife had the chicken pot pie, which was good, but short of great. Overall a comfortable friendly atmosphere.

Had a salad, it was okay, nothing special. The loaded fries were so salty. Not going to be in any rush to go back. Got seated quickly and service was good.

The first time my wife and I came here it was great! We were so excited to return, but this second time was awful. I had ordered a burger and asked for it to not have onions or tomatoes. It came with onions and tomatoes. The tomatoes are easy to remove but the onions were literally throughout the burger even between the patties. So I asked if I can have a replacement. They came back to me saying that there are no onions on it. I had to physically show them the onions. They came back out and said that the kitchen assured they were not onions but in fact lettuce. I was flabbergasted that I had to argue what an onion looked like. They finally made me a new one but I was still pretty sure they just gave me my same burger with no lettuce. At this point I was done. My wife also ordered a burger with aioli on the side and it came with it in the burger. The waiter was also not very friendly, and only started to talk to us once the mess with the burgers happened. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had.

Food and atmosphere get 5. Loved the Griggstown chicken. Service gets zero. Condescending and insincere waiteress announcing that my debit card declined when it was not. Needs training. Will never come back or recommend.

The burgers at this place were truly excellent. We ordered the Pub Burger and the Rocky Hill Inn Burger, and both were mouthwateringly delicious. The prices were extremely reasonable as well.

Luv this place. Always busy is a good sign. Sorry I don't give 5 stars to anything except Rutt's Hut. Burgers are excellent. Rob the bartender is one of the best around.
